Where do most Thais go to welcome the New Year? A Facebook page affiliated with the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Intelligence Centre has named eight provinces in particular.

The WOW Thailand page says Chon Buri attracted 325,256 holidaymakers this time last year, Bangkok 198,663 and Nakhon Ratchasima 171,525.

Rounding out the list are Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Sukhothai, Surin and Chiang Rai, each of which drew more than 75,000 Thai visitors.

Chiang Mai, Loei and Prachuap Khiri Khan each had between 55,001 and 75,000 visitors, while 13 provinces including Lop Buri, Songkhla, Ayutthaya and Khon Kaen each had between 35,001 and 55,000.......
