River Kwai

Post by Esther »

Hello :!:

I am wondering if it is possible to make an excursion to the River Kwai from Hua Hin :?:
If so, is there anyone who knows where I can find information about it :?: Like prices for example...

Thanks :!:

There are two ways you can go about this:

1) Get a train to Bang Pong (leaves daily at 11.45 - about 3 hours) for about 50 baht, then walk to the memorial roundabout (2 mins from station) and get on a bus to Kanchanaburi (about an hour away). Book into a guesthouse/hotel and explore the sites (the bridge is 3 km north of town). Also take the scenic train (about 20 baht) up the valley, great views - leaves daily. The tiger park is a must see, the hotel will have details.

2) Book a tour from any agent in Hua Hin and they will sort everything out for you - will cost about 1,500 baht.

Kanjanaburi is worth 1-2 nights, just a day trip from HH is a bit hard. There are plenty of guest houses and hotels in down town Kanjanaburi and you can make the excursions from there.
