getting to pattaya

Is there an easy way to get to pattaya, apart from bus - taxi - skytrain - bus - songtaew. a royal pain in the ass !

did'nt they have a boat service from Cha-am once?

Yes, they did run a ferryboat service from Cha-Am once. Alas, no longer so.
Your cheapest bet is the royal pain arrangement or by taxi which is painfull 3500 - 4000 B. That hurts!

Can anyone ask the local speedboat company with the yacht if thay take the trip. Cross the bay and what we shold pay for it ?
