Just a thought BB. Before you settle on the local supplier it may be worthwhile checking out a few more suppliers pricing too. I buy my socks for 25 baht for a single pair. They're good long lasting socks. For a bulk buy you maybe able to get cheaper than the price you've been quoted.

The cheaper you can get it, the more socks for the kids. :D

Maybe you've already found the best price, but worth a look anyhow.

What we have to get is quite specific. The pricing I have used was necessary to give people an idea of cost.

What Mrs BB and I will be doing is going to the wholesale market, Bobae Market in Bangkok, where we will ensure we maximise the goods we can buy with members money. The trip to Bobae will be in early January, and funded entirely by me - not the donated money.

We won't buy from the first stall holder. We will check several to make sure we get the best price/quality.

Strangely enough I was at a market on the Cambodian border last Saturday, where they were selling bulk goods at very competitive prices, but I had no way of getting what we needed back to Hua Hin (travelling by bus). Even non-bulk buys were very competitive e.g. quality Premier League replica football kits (shirts and shorts) @ 100 Baht.

You're more than welcome to join us. If you know a date, we can hold on. We don't need the gear until 29 Jan. We intend staying at the Prince Palace Hote, which is next door for one night. Suggest a date.

Looks like it's pretty easy to get to the hotel/market from Route-35:

Will get back to you later on the subject matter.

Hi BB
Just send you a PM.
Looking at this thread and the previous one with all the pictures, I can see that you and a lot of good people around you are doing a lot of work to support the education of theese children. I will be happy to donate THB 10K to help out as well.

As an update to this thread:

Donations received to date are 26,720 Baht. I have further pledges totalling 19,300 Baht which I expect to receive between Christmas and the New Year, and there are three mystery pledges (amounts unknown), which is also expected between Christmas and the New Year.

You're doing brilliantly guys - give yourselves a huge pat on the back. This is going way beyond my expectations.
