No T-shirt in the streets

Last day, a farang went into BKK bank wearing just a short, and of course a little Thai lady following. I guess the guy was too proud of his tatoo on the shoulder.
Isn't it compulsory in Thailand to have a decent appearance in public?
Thai people can only have more contempt on us wich such sample of tourists...

I don't think 'compulsory' is the word, theres no law against it as far as I'm aware. However it is a definate no-no in Thailand to be semi-naked in public. It has only recently become accepted on the beach.

I think ignorance and lack of respect applies to tourists who would dress like this in a bank. I agree with you on Thai opinion, it doesnt look good when there are people like that setting an example.

i think you have hit it on the head there every one who visits
a foreign country should show some respect, when i was in HH
last year only t shirts for beach days, in the evening shirt and
light cotton trousers, think it showed a little respect.
