I had to replace my damaged BB card earlier this year. If nothing's said then you get the new one immediately. I insisted that I wanted the old version. No problem they said but will take a week. Collected it a week later.
I'd heard too many problems with their 'new' card.

I went to BKK bank again. They absolutely refused to issue a Visa based debit card.

SCB wanted proof of marriage, retirement visa wasn't enough.

BAY (Bank of Ayudhaya) seem to be the most farang friendly at the moment. No idea why being married should be relevant unless it is a joint account.

Also have a visa debit card from K-bank that works well outside of Thailand.

The call centre would probably give a definitive answer.
That sounds extremely optimistic! :)

^^ "Possibly" then? Optimistically speaking.
