you are correct, you do not need copies of your passport and Visa.
and you do not need any photos.
You do need 910 Baht fee.
Safe travels

As a rule I advise all folk needing a 'visa stamp' to arrive at/just after lunchtime, when the place is quiet, & has minimal queues.. :thumb:
But my next visit sees me having to drive up on the 14th of April...Yes 1 day after Thai N.Yr!
My cunning plan is to set off from H.H. early morn so at least have minimal traffic for at least half of the return journey..
..& my Q. today is ... Do any folk on here know what time the Border Crossing/Immigration open in the mornings?
(I'm planning to be there for about 08.30)

I didn't know it closed overnight, but I'd give the Immigration helpline a call - 1111. I've used them a few times and they have been very helpful, speaking reasonable English.

Hi

Last week I was told by Hua Hin Immigration to go to this border to get a 15 day stamp in order to extend my stay in Thailand.

I hired a car, drove 4 hours and got there at 11.30am. I was told (screamed at)by the most aggressive unhelpful female border Immigration staff that I needed a Visa to cross over the border.
I expalined to her that Hua Hin Immigration informed me that I just needed my passport and nothing else. She told me to go back to Hua Hin Immigration and speak with them and refused to let me leave Thailand. I expalined that I had only two days left on my tourist visa and had to leave Thailand.
I rang a couple of Thai friends who tried to speak / reason with her but everything failed. I repeatedly asked what visa and where I get one from and was met with "Go back to Hua Hin".

I ended up going straight to Bangkok and flew out to Cambodia to get a 30 day stamp. The Immigration officer at Bangkok arrivals was pleasant, professional and helpful.

Dont know why this happened to me but just be warned, she may be on duty again.

Good Luck

Dioch

If you go back a page or two on this thread you'll see that this border doesn't offer visa exempt stamps (which are 30 days, there are no 15-day entries now). The only foreigners who can use that border must have a visa to return to Thailand. I'm afraid you were misinformed by HH Immigration, but you're not the first.

So I should be fine with my 6 month multiple entry visa at this border?

^^ Yes, because you have a valid visa to re-enter Thailand

This is a bit of an unusual situation, so I'm not sure anyone really knows, but I'll give it a shot.

I have two passports (from two different countries, obviously). I entered Thailand on one passport, and the visa on it is just about to expire. It so happens that I have a valid visa on the other passport. I need to leave Thailand using the first passport (the one "in use") and enter on the second passport.

Reading the latest encounter in the Kanchanaburi border, I think I might run into disagreements with the staff there when trying to leave. Should I take a chance and just show them the two passports? Or should I just take the longer drive to the Cambodian border?

I don't have a definitive answer, and I'll be surprised if you get one. If I were you, I'd play it safe and use Cambodia or Ranong.

Maybe a bit OT but that's in fact absolutely not obvious.

At least in Sweden, as a Swedish citizen, you can in som circumstances be allowed to have more than one valid Swedish passport at the same time. It can be allowed if you for example travel frequently to countries with issues, think USA vs Iraq, or if you frequently need to have one passport (or more) handed over to an embassy for visa handling but still need one passport to be able to travel.

You need to present valid reasons to be allowed more than one passport. A testimonial from your employer is often needed.

Are there any companies in Hua Hin providing the visa run to Phu Nam Ron?
Wasn't able to find any online.

Reporting back:

I finally went with a private taxi to the Kanchanaburi border. The private taxi was from a small visa-run office on the main road (sea side), not sure if it's the one at the front of Condotel since I didn't pay attention.

They do visa-runs regularly, but because I simply showed up and wanted to go immediately, I had to take the private taxi rather than a mini bus with other travelers. It cost me THB 3,500.- excl. the paperwork at the border which set me back another THB 970.-

First it was THB 920.-, but them THB 970.-
I didn't bother arguing about this, but when you take their mini bus visa-run package this fee will be included and you won't have to worry.

Overall it was a smooth experience because the driver knew the destination and also took care of organizing the guy who did the paperwork and everything.

Thanks @ users dtaai-maai and Big Boy for their help here!

Did a border run yesterday.
Everything went smooth and easy.
Drove there myself from Hua Hin. 2hours 50 minutes. 245km drive.

Border was busy at 9am had 50 people lined up to leave Thailand. This que was 10 minutes and I was out of Thailand.
Paid the 910baht for the van ride full of people to Burma.
I have a METV that they stamped and gave me 90 more days. 60+30 days.
1 hour 20 minute was the total time at the Border.

Been here several times and it is easy everytime I go.
