Credit Card Validation
Credit Card Validation
Hi guys do any of you know if you have to show your credit card at Heathrow that you booked with when checking in. As I have a problem bank just sent me new cards. So I shredded the old ones that I booked flight with the new cards are same account. It's just the numbers across the middle not the same. Any help would be great thanks guys
Re: Thaiair
When I booked my son's flight recently, I asked that same question with the travel agent. Their answer was if booking direct with the airline, they have every right to request the credit card, If you book through an agent, it is the agent's responsibility to validate the card.

Long story: A few years back I booked a flight to the US online with EVA using a US credit card issued by Capital One. After the booking but before the flight, the credit card expired. The new card was waiting for me in the US.Big Boy wrote:When I booked my son's flight recently, I asked that same question with the travel agent. When I checked in they asked for the card. I showed them the card I used to book the flight, which had expired. They refused to accept that card and made me buy a new ticket with a different card. I used a card from Bank of America.
So, at that point I had paid twice for one ticket. EVA promised a refund.
By the time I got back to Thailand there was still no refund and calling EVA produced zero result.
I contacted Bank of America and made a chargeback request. I provided them with proof that I bought and paid for the ticket with a different card. A fraud investigator from Bank of America called me and told me that he'd never seen anything so ridiculous. He said that EVA had committed fraud by charging me twice. I got an immediate refund from Bank of America.
About six months later I got a refund from EVA. I contacted them many times by phone and email saying that I wanted to pay for the ticket. I never spoke to anyone who was the slightest bit interested in getting the money from me. I gave up.
Bottom line? I got the trip for free.

Re: Credit Card Validation
I do most of my flights with Etihad and whereas in the past you were asked to show your credit card, the last 2-3 times I have flown with them, they never asked to see the card.
Re: Credit Card Validation
Call the airline ASAP and tell them what happened. I am sure you are not the first person that has done this. Better to speak to someone that can give you an official answer.
