Went to Immigration Thursday afternoon. Renewed retirement visa, 90 day report and got reentry permit. 40 minutes excluding filling in forms, getting copies and photos. Not a mention of this new form.
And no I did not ask☺

when to Hua Hin immigraion today for 90 day reporting.
No new forms or questions. just the same old same same.
not one single person there.
it took 9 minutes from the time I arrived and four minutes of that was filling out the form.
a very calm professional male officer did my paperwork. zero bad vibes. no drama. nothing.
he even reminded me that I am getting near to needing to renew my retirement extension.
it could not have been any easier.

Did my 90 day reporting on Monday afternoon had just completed the form and straight in once again proffessional male officer greeted me in English and asked how I was enjoying Thailand. Chatted briefly whilst he completed paperwork no mention of any further forms to complete. Likewise reminded me that I would need necessary paperwork for retirement visa renewal next time.
Whole process a pleasant 12 minutes.

It does seem to underline what immigration told me a couple of weeks ago in that it's not an immigration requirement and HH decided not to be involved. It's the whim of one man - the same guy who advocated not being able to buy alcohol within 300/500 metres from an educational establishment. Eventually amended to 'near'.

Extended my visa in Chiang Mai the other day. They have the new idiotic form and force everyone (on all types of visas) to fill it out. Huge waste of time. Now the Thai government knows that I love spending time at Big C, I feel exposed. I didn't fill out any other detail. They weren't happy about it, but they let it pass through.

They also have ridiculous photo size requirements (the photo which I had done in Hua Hin immigration was unacceptable), which appear to exist in order to get everyone to retake their photo at the only shop available on site, at 200 baht for 6 photos! Someone must be doing very well with this scam.

Hua Hin immigration is infinitely better.

I did my 90 day report a few days ago at HH, no new forms, it was busy but I was in and out in a flash.

On the issue of the registered homeowner required to submit the form reporting the arrival of a foreigner......can someone in the hotel business (Roel) or anyone knowledgeable tell us if it is possible to submit the form on-line? Hotels do it so it is possible. The question is if normal homeowners can get access to the reporting website. Thanks. Pete

I don't know the answer Pete, but we did it recently for friends visiting from Cambodia, and the process is very fast. We didn't have to do the usual cattle market thing - just step into the Investigation office. There were 4 offices in there, plus us.

Just done my visa extension for another year. No extra forms as usual. Once again, I asked about them. I got a smile and "Some offices do. Don't worry, Hua Hin not do"

I think it's another half baked idea which will die a death as it should.

Just extended my business visa at the one stop visa and work permit centre in BKK. The dreaded form was there but having only filled in the basics, leaving out social media used and places frequented etc., the officer accepted the form without question.

Watch the video. Now we are being compared to cars!
...........................................................................................
Immigration form: What's your bank account numbers?

http://www.bangkokpost.com/vdo/travel/9 ... t-numbers-

Thailand's Immigration Bureau is asking foreigners to provide detailed personal information such as bank account numbers, social media accounts and the places they typically go to and hang out at.
What are the foreigners' views on this issue?

I doubt that there is very much malicious with this, just the usual twisted logic.

A couple of weeks back I extended my OA visa at Korat and they passed this form to me, but specifically highlighted on the form, with a cross, the four areas they wanted me to complete - name, address, job details and car details.

Under job, I wrote, 'retired' and I was happy to provide the car info as that's already held elsewhere, but I needed the reg No. so needed to go outside (pathetic I know), but the IO just took the form from me with what I had already completed and didn't give it a 2nd glance before placing it on a bundle of papers behind her desk.
