My 30 day extension to my exemption took 2 visits because they wanted a copy of the yellow book for the notification of where I was residing. The bottom of this form was stapled in my passport with my departure card....This seems new!
Now semi retired 60:40 Thailand: UK ( seems to be working well)

Until now there is not such a requirement in HH. If they handle to me such a document, I would write that they already have my bank account No. as well copy of passbook, when I renew my year visa. For the rest, they can put this document in their ass.

Bold words on line. If you're going to tell them that, it's almost enough for me to hope it becomes a legal requirement...

I'm there on Monday. I'll report back but the last two recent visits, they insisted that it will not happen in HH.

Did my 90 days and extension of an ED visa (not mine). No extra form and again, when asked, "Not in Hua Hin"

I have lived in Hua Hin for 9 years and I have never once heard mention by any farang who holds a Non-Imm visa (and that's a lot) speak about, has heard about any such info-document or any knocking-on-doors investigating by any members of the Thai Police.
Since the beginning of 2016 I have had three 90-day visits, plus 1 Re-entry, plus 1 annual Extension. Not once has there been an incident where the Imm Police asked for documentation other then the Usual Suspects.

I can't speak to other areas.

Just an aside: I do agree with the folks here where kudos are given to the Immigration office in Hua Hin.
I have friends who have experienced various degrees of consternation with other offices in other towns. Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Bangkok seem to be the most petty and annoying.
Hua Hin is the best in my opinon.
Just one more reason why I love living in Thailand ...

Attended HH Immigration late last week for 90 day report no extra paperwork or questions. Immigration officer quite polite and helpful, reminded me I had an annual renewal of retirement visa coming up. From arrival to departure about 15 minutes.

Did my 90 days report 2 days ago. Nothing about more info. But, but they don't stamp anymore your proof of life for retirement money from your country. You have to stamp at police station for the same price, 300 Baht, of course without receipt.

That's because you don't need to show your income (or money in a Thai bank) when going in for your 90-day. It's simply not a requirement.
But don't try that when you go in for your annual extension. :guns:

Proof of life is a different thing than proof of retirement money. Before I made the proof of life always at immigration, but 1 month ago I went to Pranburi police station and got the stamp free of charge.

Sorry mate, but I don't know what on earth you are talking about. Proof of Life? Proof of life is you, alive ... sitting in front of a Thai immigration cop.

The only time you need to show either money-in-a-Thai-bank, or, a letter from your embassy showing income, or, a combination of the two, is when you go to Immigration for your annual extension.

Some countries require a document on an annual basis that is stamped by the Thai authorities (more usually the police than the immigration guys) that affirms that the individual sitting before them is indeed alive.

I'm thinking that this is what pitsch is on about.

^^ UK form needs a bit more than a stamp. Try asking a Thai cop to fill a form in English!
