I am advised that the Hull Consulate are saying that you cannot use a land border crossing to extend the visa. They say you must fly out ??!!
Anyone know if this is true.
Thanks in advance for your help

Multi entry O visa for British oap
Re: Multi entry O visa for British oap
Certainly not true as far as I know. Lots of people do 90 day border runs to Ranong or Kanchanaburi.
Re: Multi entry O visa for British oap
If you're an oap why don't you get a retirement visa then you only have to go to immigration in Hua Hin for a 90-day extension!
Re: Multi entry O visa for British oap
That would mean a trip to Bangkok for proof of income. I prefer a visa run which with my travel plan I only need one per year.

Not necessary. You can download a form, fill it in and send it with proof of income to the Embassy. You'll get your Embassy letter in the post 7-10 days later. Then you have a 12-month extension renewable annually, and with a multiple re-entry permit you can come and go as often as you like.benmo wrote:That would mean a trip to Bangkok for proof of income. You can get a non-o visa if over 65 simply by showing your state pension for the last 3 months. There is no minimum income requirement. My mother does this every year showing a state pension of around 130 quid. She gets a 90 day visa but in the past she has been given a 1 year visa. That may have changed but certainly a 90 day non-o is still available with no minimum income requirement.
This may be a UK only option but worth checking out.

All the Thai embassy web sites i have looked at say the "O" visa is for visiting Thai family, Thai wife or husband etc.
it looks like a 60 day tourist visa is available with multi entry. am i looking in the wrong place!.
