There is a thread on this somewhere but I could not find it.

I live a few km from the new place and there is still a lot to be done before it is complete, doors, windows, lighting, exterior works and god knows what else. I stopped there the other day and no one was working. If should have been completed months ago but this is Ting Tong Land it will be finished when it is finished.

Bigboy can you find the thread.

[Bigboy comment] It is all hidden within the Bluport thread, which is why I didn't merge it. It deserves a thread of it's own.

Now I'm confused. Only a few days ago I was told that it was almost complete. Furniture was being moved in to the offices and apartments.
I suppose I'll go and see for myself.

They may be moving into the apartments but you wouldn't move furniture into a building without windows and doors
Photo from today, no windows door or lights. There were a few people there in the black van so I didn't go inside

Thanks for the maps.
Just now, is the first time I've taken a close look at exactly where the new Imm office will be.
Being without my own wheels, I've grumbled in the past about getting to it but looking at the map, I guess I could get on one of those big songthaew things that go up the Pala U road and jump off at Ban Nong Khon school and leg it from there. The walk doesn't seem to be much more than from the centre of town to Market Village.
Bit of an adventure really and hopefully there'll be a small shack somewhere to drop in for a cold beer and no rabid dogs about.
Then again, there are always taxis...
With another annual extension being immanent, I shouldn't have to worry about it until 2018.
But this thread is about Blueport Imm....

There is a big old Temple right on the corner of that road. But I think it may be a bit far to leg it. In the first set of shop house on the left side down the road there is a Farang owned restaurant. That is about as far as I would walk! He might be able to rustle up a motor bike or something. But as it will be a problem for more than just you I suspect that some regular transport from town will eventuate.

Drove past the new place again yesterday, not a soul working there and no progress for months. Photo from 26/09/17, no windows door or lights. Didn't look as if anyone had occupied the buildings at the rear either.

Something must be up to prevent them completing.

I agree - I also went past a couple of times yesterday, and it was a deserted shell. It looks like the typical development that you see around Hua Hin that has run out of cash. Maybe they need to wait until the next financial year for a cash injection to finish the place.

There's building going on at the current Imm. parking place and there are fewer parking spaces available. Maybe they eventually be pushed out of the building and forced to complete the work at the new building or even move to another temporary location. (That would be #4, I think, in 4 yrs.)

A bit off topic; I renewed my passport last month and went in for my annual retirement visa ext. I was charged an extra 500 bht. to "transfer" 4 stamps from my old passport to my new one. When I asked for a receipt the sour faced officer said they don't issue one. I insisted and scowling the whole time she wrote out a receipt. This was also the first time I was asked for a electricity and water bill. Why can't the govt. ever formulate a policy and stick to it? Why does it change year to year? why is it different in every province? Yah I know the answer; this is Thailand.

Not a great deal of parking available at the new place, unless one can park at the rear between the two other buildings
