Baby Christening

Post by Irish Kev »

Can anyone shed some light on getting a baby christened in HH.
I coming over from Sydney in April with my wife who is from Nangrong and we plan to have our baby christened in a Catholic church.
Has anyone been through this process, what is required IE: Birth Certs and so on.
Where is the nearest church to town and do you have to pre-book?

Catholic Church going south from the centre of town on Petchakasam

As you go south it is on the right after a km or so. Not far from Market Village

St Teresa's right of market village as you look at it.

Let us know how you get on.

There was a time when both parents had to be Catholic, married by the church or considered not married, swear that the child would be raised Catholic, both Godparents Catholic. No idea if they've loosened these rules to fit today's reality.

It's good to see though there are still some who stand by their religious convictions. Good luck to you both. :thumb: Pete

When my daughter was one, I had the same idea to get her christened in that Catholic church. So I went along and spoke to a priest there and he was pretty vague but it seemed to just amount to bringing her along. A couple of weeks later, I brought her along to the Sunday service and in the middle of it she did the longest projectile vommit I have ever seen in my life all over the central aisle of the church floor on the run up to the altar. After a rather shamefaced attempt to clean-up we crept out the door!
I don't think she liked it there anyway....! She loves Bhudda and temples though. Bhudda was one of the first words she learnt... after no!
