It certainly doesn't mention that it's full of ladies of the night by mid-night, but that is pretty much standard for five star hotel club-bars at that time of evening in the region.
The question is, are the ladies 5 star? Pete
Often in direct ratio to amount of beer in the tank :thumb:

Thanks everybody for your replies, I hope I´m a little wiser now. I guess I have to check it out next time I´m in HH, despite loud music and all the nice girls..:-)

Cheers!

Ain't been in for well over a year, but it used to be 140 Baht a Heineken, if it's shot up to 200 Baht then that is over-priced. The cover charge used to be 140 Baht but included 1 drink free, so basically it was a non-cost.

But when it was 140 Baht (compared to Bintabaht 75 Baht) and everyone shouted rip-off I always argued that's about the right price. It's relative to city centre nightclub's anywhere else in the world, particulary in a 5 star hotel, where you can have a late drink (always a premium), with no entrance fee that you would normally get elsewhere, without a free drink, and entertainment (ok that last one's debateable).

Don't get me wrong I hate the place now although had some good nights in there when new to town, but it's not a nightclub to me because of the plastic music. But that should be off-set by the fact there's 100 odd girls in there smiling at you, even if 90% of them have no front teeth.

It's a perfect place for tourists though, and love it or hate it, it provides a service and will always be popular being at the end on Bintabaht.

Kendo

Luk Nam up the Pala-U road. Better music, cheaper and better atmosphere. Music heavy Rock (Thai and farang). Noisy if you go up front, bearable if you sit in the wings, quiet if you sit at the back, outside or go to the bog.

Great place

Preferably go with some Thais and DON'T go looking for strumpet. you may pick a girl who is with 10 soldiers or police. If you do all hell will break loose :)

Been there a few times and on one occasion was shoved under the table as Thai police and army piss-heads decided to have a rumble. Bullets flying too

All in all its safe and good fun

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Yes, its a proper place not a tiny beer bar with cheap chairs and a plywood/formica bar. It's relative to city centre nightclub's anywhere else in the world, particulary in a 5 star hotel, where you can have a late drink (always a premium), with no entrance fee that you would normally get elsewhere, without a free drink, and entertainment (ok that last one's debateable).

Since the no smooking ban has been enforced in teh bar, less people tend to go there. Even this year during High Season it was far from crowded, even late at night.
The cover charge includes two drinks on fri/sat , prices are steep though, but, I must say it a ok place to be, I have been coming there for a few years on my trips, and the staff at the bar knows me well, No hassles, I get what I Order

and to be honest, One large Black /Diet Coke for 190bht is not so bad if it is a Honest one as they do there.
Order a Can of diet coke anywhere with a small Black abel and you will be charged more. !

I,ve had some nice nights out there and at other places as well, would not like to go there all the time though.
Band all ways seems to have the same set list can't rememeber how many time they have murdered "Zombie" but they allways gives it plenty, and I,ve never had to pay the cover charge.
As other posters have said the Thai clubs are an eye opener, never had a massage whilst having a pee untill I came here
