Ladies & Gents.

I found this forum a couple of weeks ago, and have already absorbed a lot of information from you helpful people.
I have a number of assorted questions, which I am sure will seem very nieve. Please be gentle with a Thailand novice. Prior to the trip we are planning, Turkey would be the furthest east we have travelled.

DRESS. I read in many places dress codes for religious shrines etc. Quite understandable. Are shorts acceptable around the town, in bars, on golf courses etc?

CARS. If I am brave enough to hire a car, which is something we normally do. What is the parking situation in town? Car Parks, Kerbside?

This is just a starter. I'm sure there will be others.

Shorts are perfectly acceptable around town, in bars and on golf courses.

Parking is usually not a problem, except for weekends and holidays when the bangkok suburbian population descend on hua hin in their shiny new benzes.
