Johan,

It looks as if your's is a salt water aquarium?

The look like freshwater Angelfish or "pla tevada" which are quite common and inexpensive.

Be sure to check your ammonium and nitrate levels while the tank is cycling and do water changes as necessary else they'll all be floating within a few weeks!

It must be traumatising for the other fish that you single one out like that.

Worse ? What you mean ? All my fishes are in excellent condition.

I check my nitrites level as this is the only test i've got.

I need a co2 kit also, i hope they have that at ratchaburi.

I'm waiting to understand how the aquarium world works to buy another very big aquarium to have arowana fishes in it. From aquascaping to the quality of the water and the fishes i have a lot to learn.

This is how it looks like now, comments are welcome to make it better, it's my first one so... :

Water looks a little cloudy, check your ammonium levels - it usually spikes when a lot of fish are introduced to a new aquarium.

It's because i changed things in the aquarium, water is always cloudy when i touch something inside for 2-3 days. Normally the water is clean and clear if i don't do anything inside. I'm always changing something and adding plants.

Hi Johan

We have Arawana at the lodge and they DO need a lot of room. Also be aware that they are not as docile as they look. They are naturally predators so beware of putting other smaller species with them.

They can also be VERY expensive - especially the gold or red varieties.

Yes i saw some videos on youtube, better to stay far away from them if you don't want to loose a finger.

It's just a project, i'm not sure yet to buy an arowana. It's too big and can't live with small fishes. Normal arowana can be found from 500 to 2000 bahts, is not too expensive. For the platinium one it's more like 10 000 000 bahts :-)

I want a planted tank and the arowana is too big, maybe not compatible. I have the space for a 3 meters tank only and it's maybe not enough.

Been trying to google the problem with the fish. I have taken too long I fear.Never mind look on the bright side it probably is still edible.

Another of the larger 'exotics' you might want to try are the Clown Knifefish or Pla Grai.

These are actually almost extinct in the wild, but can be found in the aquarium trade.

In the right conditions they can reach 5 Kg plus - but normally in an aquarium they will reach the limits of the tank - hence their success as aquarium species.

We bought 42 of these some three years ago (First Pic)

and after about three years, one was caught at almost 3 Kg (Second Pic)

- don't forget that these are in our ponds - so they could conceivably reach their full potential size.

They are also predators - so don't mix them with others
