OK, we're half civilised, with Cricket. Now we need a rugby sevens tournament, don't you think?
Sixes action beginning today in Hua Hin
Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan _ The 11th Hua Hin International Cricket Sixes begins today at the scenic grounds of the Dusit Hotel and Resort and promises to be a lively five days of entertaining cricket action.
Thirteen teams from Australia, Hong Kong and Thailand will be competing in the tournament which will feature a Cup competition for the serious boys and the Masters event for those who prefer a more leisurely approach.
Someone who is expected to make an impact at the event is former Australian Test star Colin Miller who is accomplished with both bat and ball.
As in previous years there will be a strong Melbourne influence with three MCC teams as well as Cluden and Canterbury.
The tournament will also see the welcome return to Thailand of Brett Farmer who is leading the Phoong (Fat Belly) Follies from Australia who are expected to provide considerable entertainment.
It is good to see that Hua Hin will be represented by three teams who will hopefully give the local crowd something to cheer about.
Thai Thevada are likely to be one of the main challengers for the Cup while it will be interesting to see how the Thailand Under 19s side performs.
