Post by MXcross »

Anyone in the know as to where I can get one of these ?
$25 from the US but $48 for postage not to mention what the customs bandits are going to add to it.
Cheers !

See if you can find a 4WD spares shop. auto spare shop or auto electrician, they should be able to help you.
We sell them here is Australia normally for between $75.00 to $80

RS-Components have them listed, but at a price!

MX cross..up Petkasem Rd (in HH) not far after passing the Shell petrol-station there's a few auto-shops..I'm sure if one does not have an isolator they'll direct you to the next shop that has.
One shop sells/fits heaps of electrical products..we've christened them 'Dynamo'..they also fit window-tint.

If you do find one don`t forget to ask them about cable and lugs, and whether they can fit them for you.

Thanks all,
Have tried most shops here and am just going to get one sent.
It's for the batteries on the boat so I can use batt 1,,, batt 2 or both together (for charging), they only seem to have basic isolator switches or digital readout ones which will last about 5 mins if they get wet.
Forgot to switch the ignition off before and rope starting a 60hp, 2 stroke with an almost dead battery was bloody hard work in the sun (Not wanting to make that mistake again).
Qoted 6,500 baht for one this afternoon from Seamans Y's,,,,,,,, must think I'm as green as I am cabbage lookin!! hahaha, can get 4 for that price.
Cheers for the answers though,,, Nige...

Try contacting Tukta at ruangrut@seatboat.com they are a Boston Whaler dealer and should have the standard Perko 2 way on/off/both switch

Thank's Whaler, but I ordered one yesterday for basically 2,400 baht from the internet and it's exactly what I'm after.
I sent out emails to 5 companies and follow up calls here and got the same answer from all " We don't have them here, BUT we can make you one! ".
Most of the things we have had knocked up here have been very good but, they only ever let you down when you need them the most.
So I'll go for the real thing this time around.

Remenber you should only use both for emergency starting it's not good to run on both trying to charge 2 batteries at the same time
