I'm not 100% certain if it's Norwegian, but you might want to check out Admirals which is directly opposite the police station. If I remember correctly, it is Norwegian, and I clearly recall their menu was mostly for Norwegian food. I've eaten there a few times in the past when I stayed on that side of town, and the food was always good, and prices not too bad either.

Admirals is a good choice, Scandinavian food, I can only recoment them. Jail house is another choice, Danish food and Scandinavian. Try them out before your mother come. Leo

Terrace90 has Scandinavian food now on their menu as well as for takeout in their deli.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Jailhouse and Admiral are Danish restaurants with Danish food - which is also appreciated by Norwegians and Swedes.

FYI: Scandinavia consists of three countries; Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Often mistaken by the term "the Nordic countries" which comprises Scandinavia plus Finland and Iceland.

There's an all Norwegian restaurant at the left fork at Limelight bar down Selekam

As far as I know listen to what Charleyboy has to say.
Max restaurant in Cha Am is the closest and the only Norwegian restaurant in our area.
Richard is talking about a bar named Little Norway, and yes they do serve food but are not, by any means, anything close to what we may call a restaurant.
PM me if you need any further information.

Tussen Tak Norseman.....I walked past the Little Norway bar the other day and had a look at the menu and ended up thinking that the only thing Norwegian about it is the Norsk flag outside.

I will certainly try out the other 3 places mentioned.

I will be asking my Mum to bring out a "ton" of Prim spread and Gjettost as I still haven't found any here.

Again many thanks to all for their advice

I really hope that it is your mother in law who is visiting ?
Your Norwegian tells me that you are not from Norway ?
Maybe your Mum will be happy with Thai food.
I think that many Norwegians who come to Thailand
love Thai food as long as it is not too spicy.
Take care of the mum in the Thai way !
Good luck.

Given that my brother is married to a Thai and our 83yr old mother will not even eat rice may give you some indication why I asked the question.

I have been trying to persuade her to visit for over 7 years,so thanks for the advice but I will take care of her my way.

Sateeb. You just reminded me of my dear old departed mother.
Anything that wasn't English was foreign muck!
I remember once making some "scotch eggs" at school.
I proudly took them home, she looked at them and asked what they were just before throwing them to the dog in the garden.
The dog sniffed them and walked away.
Even the dog won't eat them...

Although we lived in England I never had a Sunday roast or full English breakfast until I was 18,she kept "accidentally" breaking my Dads pint tea mug( I still can't drink English style tea with milk).

On the plus side we were treated to some fabulous long summer school holidays in Norway and fed some fantastic Norwegian dishes. My Mums chocolate cake and waffles brought my mates constantly to our house hoping for a taste.

I'm sure she will like it here but there will be occasions when I will be treated to her disapproving glare, pursed lips and under the breath mutterings.

The other thing I am looking forward to is her meeting my lovely elderly German neighbours :starwars: who have invited me and Mum to their house over Christmas. I wouldn't call her a racist but she was a young girl during the Occupation in WW2 and I can still see her face and what she muttered under her breath when I had a German exchange student staying at our house and he threw his dirty laundry down the stairs with a barked order to "wash ze clothes"

I love the old dear but she is an "acquired taste" :sun:
