Bangkok Airport to Hua-Hin
Re: Bangkok Airport to Hua-Hin
I agree entirely - a connecting flight will rarely, if ever be a faster alternative. If your flight is due to arrive from the UK at a convenient time for a connection, how confident would you be that you would arrive on time? If you time it so that you have to wait a couple of hours, you could be sat in your hotel/home in Hua Hin long before the connecting flight is on the move.

Re: Bangkok Airport to Hua-Hin
What the OP seems to be saying is that the flights to/from HH do not fit in with his departure/arrival times in BKK and if he had to add the cost of a hotel, any possible cost savings go out of the window. As for transfer times and costs it's all very marginal - you can get taxis for about 1500 baht, but I pay 2000 for a very reliable and safe taxi guy and the times vary from about 2.1/2 hours to sometimes 3.1/2 hours if you are travelling at peak times and get caught in the rush hour traffic.BaaBaa. wrote:What do you mean?pitsch wrote:Not if you want to go to the airport. I would use it for my next flight, but the times do not fit to the departure and arrival times at BKK. And to stay overnight in Bangkok would be more expensive than a taxi.BaaBaa. wrote:A Taxi would be quicker.
What on earth would you want to go to HH airport for if it wasn't to get to a hotel/house in HH?
A Taxi from Suvarnabhumi to wherever you're staying in HH will still end up being cheaper and quicker than a flight.
Having said all of that, I can't see there being sufficient demand to generate enough business to create enough flights in a day that might make it a viable alternative to travel by road - a taxi driver after all will be available at whatever time you need him.
Re: Bangkok Airport to Hua-Hin
These types of domestic flights are not aimed at overseas tourists. Any 8 eight passenger aircraft has limited space and weight constraints for luggage / baggage for a start.
The service is more aimed at either business people on day trips, or Bangkok residents wanting to go and return for the weekend only.

Presumably he means Don Muang airport BKK. Though why anybody would want to go there is a bit of a mystery.BaaBaa. wrote:What do you mean?pitsch wrote:Not if you want to go to the airport. Unless pitsch is under the impression that these flights go to BKK International Airpory aka Swampy. If he does then best he find out from here that they're miles apart, than get dissapointed after buying his ticket!

I've used the same Taxi for about 5 years, 2000 baht. My only complaint is they turn up TOO EARLY when I'm heading up to Suvarnabhumi.
BaaBaa,
Is that 2000 one way or return...??? I work as an ex pat and come to HH for 3 weeks out of every 12 and currently use a company who charge me 3500 return. Is that good...???
Just curious really as I get ALL my travel paid by my company anyway.

It's 2000 one way, I've been offered 1700 off others but as I say, these have never let me down so I'm happy to use them.phartley58 wrote:BaaBaa. wrote:It's nearer to 2 hours in reality, plus no check in, boarding, waiting, Taxi again from the Airport etc etc.maxnum wrote:I checked the rate of air ticket is 1,990 Bt. Re: Bangkok Airport to Hua-Hin
An earlier post said that the minibusses from Vic Mon run until 6pm--they run later than that , I think until 8.
One of the aggravations is the fuel stop, this can take up to half an hour if there is a line-up. But generally takes less than 3 hours including stop.

The last minivan from Vic goes at 9pm, or at least it used to. Don't know about the other way.
Re: Bangkok Airport to Hua-Hin
When booking taxi how do i go about writing the pick-up time from Airport since u never know how long it takes to go through the airport.
Also is it possible to get a few beers waiting for me in the taxi ?

Re: Bangkok Airport to Hua-Hin
The taxi will ask you for your flight number, and time of arrival. He or she will then work out the rest, and tell you where to meet them. Basically you come out of arrivals, turn right and walk for about 400 yards.
