I am sure there must be a thread about this but when I searched MAIL I got 1990 unhelpful matches.
How long does it take for mail from HH to get to destinations in North America and UK?
Mail from HH to North America
Re: mail from HH to NorthAmerica
About one week to France, from my little but recent experience.
Re: mail from HH to NorthAmerica
5-7 days to the UK.

Point google at this site, search for 'ems' instead of 'mail'.

Recent experiences 7-10 days.
Re: Mail from HH to North America
My experience has been very random with normal mail to/from the U.S. It has taken as little as 10 days to as much as a month or not at all (lost). If something is important I have people there use a private carrier (i.e., Fedex) and I use EMS from here. Normal delivery time for those is about 5 days and nothing has ever been lost.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Re: Mail from HH to North America
I just EMS mailed a letter to the U.S. on Thursday (from Nakhon Si Thammarat in the south) and it is in the U.S. now and appears that it will be delivered to Dallas, TX on Monday there.
Two important factors to remember:
1. Take to P.O. before 11am as cut off for EMS going out is 11am.
2. Get to P.O. on Thursday or Friday and you can pick up a day in the airplane on Sunday when nothing else is moving or open.
I have sent an EMS letter from BKK on Friday morning and it was delivered in Los Angeles area on Monday morning.
My worst experience---sent EMS letter late in the week from Nakhon Si Thammarat to LAX and it got into customs in New York where it stayed for 5 days then came out and languished for another several days at P.O. in N.Y. before finally putting on a burst of speed and a day later delivered in LAX area. Took two weeks and lots of email inquiries and phone calls from me to the P.O. in the U.S. Contained a check for son and needed by a Thursday but arrived on Saturday. Needless to say I had to arrange for a wire from my U.S. bank to his account so he would have the money in time.
Most experience has been good except the one clunker.
Oh, a regular ordinary Air Mail letter: 1-3+ weeks is my experience. No consistency here.

Items leaving Thailand are generally consistent, it's more to do with the incoming customs having to filter the number of counterfeit DVDs, Viagra, steroids and clothing.
Amazingly the postal service here is very efficient in my experience.

Re: Mail from HH to North America
My mail was not urgent, cards sent to g'children by regular mail. I know understand why it is so cheap, 15b/ card. I'll keep sending them at weekly intervals and see how long it takes. I have heard as much as a month, with a significant loss.
I do remember as a small boy, I had an uncle in Malaya and his airmai letters took 5 days and that was over 50 yes ago.

Canada has a notoriously slow mail system.
We always send airmail to Canada as EMS stops at Swampy airport, used EMS before and seemed to take the same time as airmail.
Generally we bank on about 3 weeks, return from Canada about the same, plus delivery time from HH post office which could be a week, a month, or never!!!
We always allow about the same 2 to 3 weeks for airmail to the UK.
