Vana Nava Hua Hin Water Jungle
Re: Hua Hin Water Jungle in 2014?
A jungle made for getting wet
Billed as Asia's first water jungle, the brand new Vana Nava Hua Hin throws open its doors to the public on December 1 and is expected to bring in more to 300,000 visitors within the first year.
"We set out to create one of the best family leisure destinations in the region," said Proudputh Liptapanlop, chief executive of Proud Real Estate, at the recent press conference.
"Together with our partners, who all share the same vision, we want to redefine 'family entertainment' with some of the world's best and greatest slides and attractions, developed to the highest safety standards and using the most updated technology, while promoting the surrounding community and preserving the existing ecosystem."
The water park, which has cost Bt1 billion, is equipped with Thailand's most exciting rides and slides to date from Canada's WhiteWater West Industries, the world leader in water attraction products, which have supplied equipment to more 5,000 water parks around the world in the past 30 years.
The park's highlights include The Abyss, and the 31-metre-high Vana Nava Falls, which is said to be Asia's tallest man-made mountain waterfall, as well as LED lighting in all the pools.
"Vana Nava Hua Hin is destined to earn a reputation as the best water park in the Asia Pacific region," said Brian Walker Smith, vice president of sales of WhiteWater West Industries.
The water park is the first phase of a larger 35- rai mixed-use development that also consists of a 300-key family hotel and premium residences. With more than 200,000 trees on its 20-rai property, Vana Nava Hua Hin will literally become an "oasis of fun" that enhances Hua Hin's image as a premier family destination.
"We stay committed to our vision to further elevate Hua Hin’s status as a world-class destination in order to generate a lasting positive economic impact for the entire community. With the completion of Vana Nava Hua Hin, the city will now have a first class leisure destination and we will be that much closer to achieving our goal," Proudputh added.
Other slides and attractions include the Slide Jungle, a large tower with 6 of the fastest slides ever built and the Surf Zone consisting of a Double Flow Rider as well as a bar, a game arcade and live DJ station.
Let's get wet
_ Daily admission to the water jungle zone starts at Bt1,000 per adult and Bt600 per child, with a family package for 2 adults and 2 children at Bt2,600.
_ Operating times during the regular seasons will be 10am-6pm, extended to 10am-9pm during the peak season and on public holidays.

Re: Hua Hin Water Jungle in 2014
I had the chance to try the new waterpark (jungle) and I have to say....AWESOME! Not all the kid zones were open yet, but they said they'll have them up and running by Monday. Also they take safety very seriously, Lifeguards everywhere! The F&B outlets looks very promising, I think one hotspot will be the bar above the flowrider....wicked fun! Official opening on December 1st is confirmed....
Cheers,
B.

A new water park, the Vana Nava Hua Hin, gets flowing in time for tourism season
Get ready to take the plunge as Asia's first water jungle, the Vana Nava Hua Hin, turns on the tap next week. Home to 19 water rides, the amusement park is aiming to become one of the leading attractions the popular resort town.
"Vana Nava has the largest, longest and most thrilling rides in Thailand. It should also be considered as the safest water park, as we have 160 lifeguards and a general manager with more than 27 years of experience in water and amusement operations," says Proudputh Liptapanlop, managing director of Proud Real Estate. "It's also the most high-tech, with RFID [radio-frequency identification] wristbands distributed to all visitors. And it's eco-friendly, with 200,000 plants and trees, a top-quality water management system and the highest water quality."
"Our goal here at Vana Nava is to run a very safe and fine park and we stress operational standards in everything we do. I am bringing to the park my past experience and operational excellence in all those areas," adds general manager Mike R Fijas.
"As chairman of the Safety Committee for the World Waterpark Association, I'm bringing a high set of standards that are recognised worldwide to Vana Nava. We're safe because of the standards we utilise in our everyday operations. That's why we use Ellis and Associates as the certifying body for our lifeguards. They are the No 1 recognised agency for certification of lifeguards in the world and they are here to work with us and provide the highest standards of safety we can," Fijas continues.
Built at a cost or more than B1 billion, Vana Nava Hua Hin has transformed 20 rai of land into a tropical jungle, with an Adventure Zone and a Wet Zone. The Adventure attractions include a 13.4-metre-high rope course, a 13-metre climbing wall and double-flow attraction, the Chang Surf Zone.

Re: Hua Hin Water Jungle in 2014
Black Mountain Waterpark has not done as well as the owners wanted. Is there really enough demand for another waterpark in this small city.? For sure, Black Mountain waterpark will now do a lot worse but we will see how how this new park does.
Seems like no coincidence that Hua Hin had no water supply for about 5 days just as this new park was being filled with water. Hua Hin is the driest part of Thailand and waterparks use a silly amount of water - doesn't seem sensible. At least the golf courses have to be self sufficient for their water.

Really?? All of HH has had no water supply for "about 5 days" ??
Speak for yourself mate. I live within a kilometer of the place and there is NO lack of water or pressure at my place. Indeed, can't say any I know has mentioned "no water supply for about 5 days".
LOL Swing and a miss. Nice try however.
Cheers!

I am not in Thailand now but my wife said she didn't have water for a few of days. I asked her what was going on and she said it had something to do with the new water park. We live off the canal road so it's not close to the park but that was the word on the street according to her.centermid7 wrote:heartofmidlothian wrote: Seems like no coincidence that Hua Hin had no water supply for about 5 days just as this new park was being filled with water.

I live within a few minutes walk of the place and I've not suffered any water outages. And I think I read somewhere that because of the up-to-date technology, this park only uses 3% of it's water. I'd say that is much less than the average golf course.

Re: Hua Hin Water Jungle in 2014
There was a lot of talk on the internet about "no water" in many areas of Hua Hin for several days. Not sure of the exact numbers but many people affected and lots of water trucks about. Everything back to normal now though.
Doesn't matter how good the technology is, a waterpark uses a huge amount of water to fill it and then evaporation will require a lot to keep it topped up. Unless they catch rainwater in the wet season, which requires a very big holding lake, then they must be getting water from somewhere. Golf courses collect the rain run off in their lakes and have to be self sufficient. They cannot buy city water.

Not sure where the water is coming from to fill the man made lagoon in the new development on Soi 112 but having driven up to Banyan GC the other week and seen the sheer size of it for the 1st time, it's gonna take a hell of a lot to fill it up!!!!

As it's due to open on the 1st December, I assume it's been full up for sometime, so with an evaporation/loss of just 3%, hopefully it won't have too much of an impact on the surrounding area.sateeb wrote:Not sure where the water is coming from to fill the man made lagoon in the new development on Soi 112 but having driven up to Banyan GC the other week and seen the sheer size of it for the 1st time, it's gonna take a hell of a lot to fill it up!!!!

DB...Not talking about the water park..I was referring to the new housing development which will have a MASSIVE man made lagoon and beach which has yet to be filled.

So who can tell us, is a Thai "Billion" 1,000,000,000 or 100,000,000?
Did this water park really cost £20 million pounds Stirling?
