Lapa Hotel Hua Hin

Post by chelsea »

Just wondered if anyone had stayed at the Lapa Hotel recently and what your thoughts on the property was. Will be in Hua Hin from 30th August for 13-14 nights.

Would be looking at about 6 nights there and probably the Sofitel for the rest of the time. Not quiet sure of the Lapa location, but I know where the Lets Sea is and looks like it is not as far down as that place. Have not been to Hua Hin for about 6-7 years so looking forward to another visit

Any help anyone can give would be much appreciated.

Good to see you back on the forum Chelsea - and what a great time to return, with JT doing a re-run of your avatar on Saturday. :D

But just to mention, and I'm sure you already know, but the Sofitel is no-more, it's morphed into a centara hotel!

Caller, will have to upgrade my current Avtar now as well after the weekend I think.

I am aware of the Sofitel being the Centra now, but is still getting good reviews and my GF can get good rates through her job as a travel agent. Have not decided 100% but think that will be staying there anyway.

Is a good position in the town and can walk everywhere.

If I'm thinking of the correct hotel, it's on the Soi immediately North of 102 which is the Southern boundary of the Blueport Shopping Centre, which is a very busy, 24/7 building site. I drive that way to my daughter's house regularly, and while it looks quite pleasant, I can't see any way that the noise from Blueport will not have at least a minimal effect.

Cheers for that Big Boy, much appreciated.

Still looking at other options, but came across a Hotel called The Dune. Looked on here and could only find a post from 2008 and nothing later.

Any body stayed there recently of know of anyone that has. From all accounts I have read, it seems to be a good place.

Any info would be appreciated

The Lapa is not in the best location, but it's nice and trendy, one I can recomend is Rest Detail, a great Boutique hotel in a quiet location, and I would think similar price to Lapa.
