another where to stay thread

Post by horadee »

Hi all,
We will be in Hua Hin at the end of April for 3-4 days. As I've previously lived in Thailand I really enjoy the street foods, Morning markets for breakfast and other authentic Thai stuff. Can anyone recommend a hotel (mid - high end) which has a nice beach and is in walking distance from this kind of surrounding?

Usually don't enjoy the large resorts such as Hyatt or Hiltons, as they suffocate you and take you away from the authentic Thai experience but I may be wrong in Hua Hin? Please let me know what you think or suggest.

It would also help to point me to the right place on Maps (neighbourhood) so I can focus on that particular area looking for a hotel.

Appreciate any help - thanks!

You can find and book all of the hotels by location on the Hua Hin map: http://www.maphuahin.com/

There is also a list of mid-range hotels here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20705

That doesn't answer or helps me at all. Did you read the message?

I'm looking for personal experience not a website with a map of hotels there are plenty of those out there.

You asked for a map for hotels by area - I posted one. Want personal reviews? Try clicking the hotel links posted and reading them.

Sorry for trying to help - with that attitude you wont get very far.

Didn't mean to be rude but I asked for a particular area of the map matching the criteria I'm looking for. I've seen you post that hotel map link in 10 other posts and visited it before I posted this.

If you want to be on the beach you will be staying in a high end resort. To get the true Thai experience you have to stay on the west side of the train tracks

Specific hotel names and rates.

Fresh Inn Hotel
132 Naresdamri Road, Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan, 77110, Thailand, ‏‎800-491-9657
And
Jed Pee Nong Hotel (used to be two with same name)
17 Damneonkasem Rd. Hua-Hin Prajuabkirikhan 77110 TEL : 66 (032) 512381 , 533345 , 513347

Both priced about US $45.00 and up. Both are located in the main area. Near beach. . Both are clean and modest. With multiple restaurants nearby. Both are near the high end Hilton and the Sofitel hotels.
Note that some hotels in Thailand have a high season price and an low season price.
There are a multiplicity of hotels in this area. If you don't like the first one you stay at - you can walk down the street to many others. All in same area. Some advertise more/better then others. I stayed at one hotel and had breakfast at another - as one had a buffet while others do not.
The Fresh Inn is more centrally located. But not by much.
Many Thai hotels sometimes wait a tad too long for maintenance. In that one hotel might be great one year and a few years later look tired.
A note about room rates. There is the published rate - and then sometimes a lower rate for walk ins. I have done both.
A must if visiting Hua Hin - is a walk through the Sofitel Hotel. A grand older hotel.

Hey Guys, thanks for all post information. its very useful but when i was in Australia, i came to know about one site on internet which gives best fact based stats / information of all regions / states of Australia. They have detailed stats, information & map view of every location of Australia. I was hoping similar kind of site for Hua Hin state.

Kindly let me know, if anyone knows about any site similar to the said site. Actually am looking for a place for investment purpose. Hoping best reviews on this post.

This website and those in the link bar above have all the information on Hua Hin you need - if you dont see something just ask, thats what the forum is for. If you want other areas of Thailand just Google them.

This site is loaded with information for visiting the area: http://www.tourismhuahin.com/
And this is the most comprehensive map for Hua Hin: http://www.maphuahin.com/
