Lotus, coming to HH or not

Post by Bamboo Grove »

Last year there was talk about Lotus starting to build an outlet in HH. Then it was informed that they've given up the idea. Now, something is being built were Lotus was supposed to materialize i.e. just after the railroad on way to Pala-U. The motorbike taxis in the vicinity claim it's Lotus coming up there, but does anyone have any information whether this is true or not. To have Lotus (or/and Foodland) here would be excellent.

Hi guys, I'm new here. and just wanna give you guys info about what you asked. The express lotus will be opening soon in the Gas station area. I forgot the name of gas station. it could be Caltex or something. It's somewhere opposit of Chatchai market the same side of the summer palace. It's right in town.
It's cool to have lotus in town. I feel more comfortable to buy chicken and meat there for cooking. It's safer than in the market I believe!

Bear in mind that Express Lotus are going to be more like 7-11/Family Mart, than a proper supermarket. That said, in areas with high numbers of Westerners they will to cater to Western as well as Thai tastes.

The place being built near the railway is going to be a supermarket, it's owned by the guy who has the cable Tv, as for what it will sell not sure.

The sign outside the construction site says that it's going to open in the end of August. Let's hope they'll have a good meat and cold cuts sections.

Stevie Wanderlust has all the details as he knows someone on the construction team. Sounds like a glorified petrol station and 7 Eleven to me.

I'll be in HH tomorrow staying with Wanderlust, I'll ask him to post what he knows.

While I know nothing of the new supermarket being built on the wrong side of the tracks, I'd find it hard to believe Tesco/Lotus would set up shop in such a location. The place is allmost a cul-de-sac and there's precious few parking spaces.

Let's wait and see!

Tesco Lotus is building a express supermarket (limited version of the real thing) at the petrol station on Petchkasem Rd. near the intersection with Chomsin Road. As for the department store/supermarket on the RIGHT side of the tracks, it's not Lotus as stated before.

Down town Hua Hin need to have a really good supermarket 'cause what they have at Hua Hin plaza ( I'm not so sure the name is right?!) next to food palza at intersection is not really practical! don't you think? And Big C supermaket is wayyyyyyy too far!
Well, at least the express lotus is coming for sure and soon open :)
