That's a shame, especially as it only takes a few minutes to knock up from scratch.

I found the pasta stall last night - thank you. Unfortunately, my carbonara was a frozen dish put through the microwave - not a patch on the guy outside Lotus Express.
thanks for the warning.

i think there is a bit of "look at me" going on at the soi 88 food court. reminds me of high school. :)
really good people watching.

and yes the band is getting louder... i have to sit over by the south end and also avoid the clouds of spice from the venders cooking. it is like pepper spray sometimes. i am glad the thais start coughing too so i don't feel like "farang no can".

and open air while not good for rain, it works better than 94. too closed in...

a bar that was in 88 is now in 94. they have the 3 for the price of 2 special all the time. mixed drinks and wine. look for it towards the north end...

Doesn't soi 94 go east to west so which is the north end?

Talking of Soi94...had an excellent meal this week at the cafe Mekong, which has moved recently from near MV up to near Mirabelle's, on the left walking from the main road. Good service, good value. I hope it succeeds.

I doubt it will but wish them good luck anyway. Sign spelt completely wrong which doesn't help. The restaurant next door gets more customers with excellent food and at Thai prices. The Mekong so far has just been an advert for Duang's.

Good Luck Mekong anyway. I think you are the third to try there.

:offtopic:

A new poster went up during the week at the Soi 94 court/market. it states the Sunday market will be open on more days, I think Thursday to Sunday or maybe Wednesday, I can't remember. As of yesterday the temporary market stalls had been removed, maybe because of the weather or maybe to build something more permanent.
It also says cool attractions to come and has pictures of a kids go kart track and a swimming/paddling pool.

There's also a new building being erected across the road on the left hand side as you head to Soi 94, I guess it will be a restaurant, anyone know for sure ?

If it's the same building as I'm thinking of, I'm told it's going to be a medical centre.

I've been away for a couple of weeks so I've not been to Soi 94 market for a while. I had a walk around this afternoon and the stall holders were setting up the market stalls behind the food court which hopefully will bring some customers for the Sunday market.
However, walking around the food court all, or virtually all, of the middle section of food stalls are vacant, including the Indian where I've eaten a few times. The name sign is still in place but the stall is empty.

There's another building going up on the left front side as you look from 94, not sure what that is and a new building on the opposite side of the soi that runs to Soi 88, which doesn't appear to be the clinic as that is further up towards 88.

The original plans showed that as a much needed 7-11  . However, if it is, it'll be the prettiest 7-11 in Thailand.

Clear winner 88. very busy every night, often difficult to find a table. food good, prices even better.Soi 94 looks like it is fading already, very few customers. Only success is Sakura Buffet owned/run by the young Thai guy who opened Sakura Japanese on 94 and 94 open air restaurant on 94. He does an excellent buffet for 299b and is drawing a good crowd each night.

Hardly any of the food stalls occupied now on Soi 94. The ones facing the road have had all the counters/sinks etc removed and it looks like they are making them into small shops.

I wonder when Thais will actually think of something unique instead of copying the business next door and then wondering why they don't have the number of customers that used to be next door.
