A similar device was later discovered at Chat Chai market in Hua Hin. Pornsri Wilaisakul, 30, said she found a mobile phone charger in a box near her clothes shop and decided to call police to check it,given the earlier spate of bombings.

Ahhhh . . . the foretelling of the future! Indeed, there are many on this board whom are experts at that.spoorsy200 wrote:I am spending 3 days in Bangkok from Tuesday then travelling on to Hua Hin with my family. What are peoples thoughts, will things be back to normal by then?

Understand. Just that i've found his information before has been reliable and has later been verified by official reports. I will refrain from posting non authenticated sources again.[Mod comment] Henrik Hoberg on Facebook is not a recognised news source. Re: Hua Hin and Thailand bomb attacks
Yes, the schools are closed tomorrow. I gather one bomb found in Chatchai market and a further one in MV. From my sources, they weren't all confirmed bombs. Any suspicious object is being reported to the police/army and quite rightly so. But not every report is a bomb.
Re: Hua Hin and Thailand bomb attacks
While we welcome civilized discussion on this sad event could people please refrain from rumour and scare mongering from unofficial sources which include "facebook", "my sources", "visa forums" etc. Please stick to what you have personally witnessed, police reports, and official news organizations, quoting them where possible. Hua Hin is suffering at the moment, we don't need to add fuel to the fire with unsubstantiated commentary.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I agree with you, Lev. The problem is that even the 'authenticated' news sources contradict each other and are rife with speculation. Sometimes local knowledge is more accurate. In this particular scenario, the world press and news media are worse than local stories posted on this forum. But you're right in that we shouldn't add to the rumours and speculation already published around the world.

Totally agree with HH Tel... Playing " Capt. Hindsight" or being a "Monday Morning Quarterback" serves no useful purpose.

Get real, police reports and official news reports (globally) are about as reliable as a ouija board.
Re: Hua Hin and Thailand bomb attacks
So you're suggesting relying on Farcebook where any muppet can become a reporter overnight ... and other forums which get it wrong as often as right for their "news"? Good luck with that, as with all media you read, believe what you want.charlesh wrote:Get real, police reports and official news reports (globally) are about as reliable as a ouija board.
Being one that posts a lot of news here I think the forum's news republication policies are spot on, third party news sources may not always get it 100%, but they are officially recognized as such and HHF is covered against slander and misreporting as they are not the source. The problem with 'local sources' is that they don't want to be named so anyone can say what they like with no consequences (as many on here do under their pseudonyms).
Anyway, I dont think HHF policies are open for discussion so - back to topic, here is a report on the Reds denying any involvement.
Reds denounce attempts to blame them for serial bombings
RED-SHIRT leader Jatuporn Prompan yesterday denounced attempts to pin the blame on the anti-charter movement for the bloody bombings in seven provinces last week.
"We condemn these governmental and political actors who are using these incidents to accuse the anti-charter movement [of masterminding the operation] despite the lack of evidence and facts," Jatuporn said in his Facebook post.
"They intend to eradicate political opponents in order to garner support for the government that seized power from the people."
The red shirts, or the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), who opposed the new charter, yesterday held a press conference to decry the tragic blasts in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Surat Thani, Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Nakhon Si Thammarat that killed four people and wounded more than 30 on Thursday and Friday.
The responses followed assumptions by the People's Democratic Reform Foundation, some Democrat politicians and national police that the incident could stem from the charter gaining a landslide victory in all but the three southern border provinces a few days before the attacks.
