I first discovered HH in 2001, and aside from a trip to Havana in '02, have been coming back every winter for steadily lengthening visits - this year for eight weeks (with a three day biz trip to China mid way through to serve as a visa run).

From the correspondence on this site, it sounds like one or two Pattaya-esque type establishments have appeared - not my sort of scene

One of my regular daily indulgences has been a long oil massage (without 'extras') at lunchtime. There almost seems to be a cartel over the pricing of these services, and I once noticed a Thai lady paying half price.
- Can anyone tell me where I can get a good massage at the local rate?
Base camp will be the Romantic - any HHAD'ers who can guess who I am without asking can have a Chang or Singha on my tab!
