Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has soft-opened a new upscale resort in the Thai beach town of Hua Hin.
The new Radisson Blu Resort Hua Hin, which overlooks the Gulf of Thailand just 2.5 hours’ drive from Bangkok, marks the brand’s return to Thailand’s beaches, following the rebranding of the former Radisson Blu in Phuket earlier this year. It will also complement the existing Radisson Blu Plaza Bangkok.
“This is a fitting destination to open Thailand’s first Radisson Blu resort property. Hua Hin has long been favoured by Thai royalty as a preferred summer retreat. With its laidback but sophisticated feel the resort offers a holistic getaway from the bustling capital city of Bangkok, satisfying the needs of the discerning traveller while offering a connection to the local community,” said Preet Inder Singh, general manager of the new resort.
Radisson Blu Resort Hua Hin features 118 rooms and suites, all with free Wi-Fi. These include 22 pool access rooms which feature terraces that lead directly into the resort’s swimming pool.
F&B options include The Exchange, an all-day restaurant that uses herbs and spices from the restaurant’s own garden, The Ivy, a beachfront grill and pool bar, and a rooftop lounge. Other facilities include a spa, fitness centre, three swimming pools, three function rooms and the 200m² Aqua Ballroom.
“The resort appeals to Thai and international guests arriving from Bangkok, as well as those booking a vacation or special event from further afield. We look forward to welcoming guests from around the globe to enjoy this incredible location and experience one of the world’s leading hotel brands,” added Singh.
The new resort is scheduled to fully open in October 2016.

I think this is the new resort on the Cha-am road along with all the other resorts that way, so is not really in Hua Hin.

Re: Radisson Blu returns to the beach in Hua Hin
I went to a new resort, just North of the Sheraton on Saturday evening to meet up with some relatives who were just passing through - not Radisson Blu. The beach along that stretch was the dirtiest I can remember seeing in Thailand. I don't know if it was just a case of recent terrible sea conditions, but there is no way I'd want to use the beach there.
Why don't many hotel/resort owners clean the beach in front of their beach front properties, which must have cost a small fortune? Surely, a nice beach would encourage repeat trade. Compared to the cost of beach front property, a team of 10 Thais for a day to deep clean the beach would barely touch the petty cash.

Because they don't see the problem. They see what they have seen for most of their lives. It's normal, nothing wrong. I truly am not being anti Thai. Few have any comparison to make a judgement other than elsewhere in Thailand. It will change but this is generational and like many other things, we willBig Boy wrote:Why don't many hotel/resort owners clean the beach in front of their beach front properties, which must have cost a small fortune? But a small few do clean their beach fronts. Walking Hua Hin Beach most nights, it's evident who has their night staff cleaning (most of the beach front is well floodlit), and at least one does an early morning clean, inviting guests to join in.

As BB says, it's obvious which hotels clean their section of the beach. There are no excuses!

Lyining in thesun, sitting on thesand, paddling or swimming in the sea---- ALL things that the crazy farang do.
Thai people tend to sit in their beach front condos and watch this with amusement.

Is there anywhere nearby (walking distance) to rent a motorbike? I'm actually considering staying in the Sheraton.
