My sister told me that pork pies should never be frozen, but should only
ever be chilled and eaten within 3 days of purchase.

In our house, they (the pork variety) are the first ones chowed down
when the pie delivery arrives.

I went to the business "Pork Pies Hua Hin by Anna" and duly purchased a large family size pork pie yesterday. It has now been demolished by everybody. Absolutely THE BEST I have had in Hua HIn by miles. The crust both out and inside is perfect with the jelly just as I used to have in UK years ago. They also have Gala pies (with the egg inside) and many other pies and sausage rolls. Anna is married to Chris who has retired from the British Navy. Anna learned the pie business when living in the UK.

The business is half way up Soi 88/1 ( 236/42) on the left. The Soi is the immediately before Market Village coming from South. You will not regret your visit!

Maya's Bistro in Soi 94 also serves pies. I haven't tried them, but I spoke to the owner and he told me that a British guy shows up nearly every second day to have the pie for dinner, and he has said it is delicious. Maybe worth a try for you British pie lovers???

Did you read my last sentence?????

I'm not a pie lover, i.e. I don't eat pies. I just passed on some information I got when I had a meal at the same location the other day, that's it. Nothing more, nothing less. As a matter of fact I have never eaten pork pies so I don't even know how they taste. So stop shouting at me! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :guns:

:agree: totally
went there yesterday and got 2 pork pies and 1 scotch egg and it was excellent, reminded me of the time I used to live in England, delicious and the scotch egg absolutely perfect
will try the cheese and onion, and, the beef pies next time
this little business has only been going for 2,5 months and I wish Anna a great success in her venture
highly recommend it

I shared one of these bad boys from Hua Hin Ham & Bacon with my son a few days ago. A new recipe and filled with delicious jelly - really, really good.

You are so right I was there today and it reminded of those Melton Mowbray pork pies I used to buy at Tesco - fantastic.

So with Ham & Bacon also upping their pies Hua Hin is in luck

Well BB. On your recommendation. I'll give Ham and Bacon another try.
Let's just hope they are using lard (not from palm oil) in their hot water pastry !

I don't know precise details about the lard, but I do know they usually use quality ingredients. Of course, we all have different tastes, and what I like, another person may not and vice-versa. However, very little disappoints me from that shop, and the cherry on top is they have Double Deckers in stock again :D .

Well, curiosity got the better of me. I decided I would try one of these new(ish) Pork Pies today. Checked their website to confirm location and opening time. As before, we found many things including a Swedish Restaurant, a coffee shop, Hua Hin Butler, but was there a sign for a pie shop? That'll be a big fat No, or at least if it's there, we couldn't see it :? .
