The following is in over regulated Australia, but lists some good points. It also says that they are banned in Thailand.

Banned in Thailand or not, I had never seen one in the flesh so to speak until the day of the dragon boats/Royal Barges a few weeks ago. That one seemed to be operated by the TV company.
Since then I've seen 2 more flying in Hua Hin.
I guess it's like the wearing of motorcycle helmet law.

Have noticed quote a few operating down along the beach of an afternoon when conditions are good around the vicinity of Chiva Som. last week a couple of proffessional operators were there doing a few aerial pics of Chiva Som and another doing a wedding further south.Big Boy wrote:Banned in Thailand or not, I had never seen one in the flesh so to speak until the day of the dragon boats/Royal Barges a few weeks ago. Saw a couple of of young fellas do a bit of lens damage when attempting to take off on dry sand.

UAV or Drone racing has become extremely popular in Australia with organised events in carparks and disused warehouses. Participants wear goggle that have a continuous video feed so they are actually looking through the camera as the fly the UAV over a pre determined course.
Game of Drones: The incredible high-speed drone racing taking over abandoned warehouses and carparks – with winners reaching up to 150km/h
Underground drone racing taking off across Australia with racers able to push quadcopters to more than 150KM/H
Races held in abandoned warehouses and carparks, with courses limiting speeds to 'around 50 or 60' for most
Events in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane feature hundreds of people taking part in and watching races

Prime marketing delivers a vision of the future
http://www.flightsafetyaustralia.com/20 ... he-future/
You know it’s nearly Christmas when Amazon release a video about drone delivery.
One of the world’s leading online retailers has made its first commercial delivery with an autonomous drone.
Amazon last week completed a flight in rural England, delivering an electronic device and a packet of chips to a local Cambridge man within 13 minutes of the customer placing the order online.
Taking-off from a small warehouse near the customer’s residence, the drone was packed with 2.2 kg (5 lbs) of goods before being sent down a conveyer belt where the autonomous flight mode was activated.
Amazon claims its new Prime Air ‘rapid parcel delivery’ will not only greatly reduce delivery time, but will also increase ‘the overall safety and efficiency of the transportation system.’

Oops:
DSI staffer injured by own drone at Wat Dhammakaya
http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general ... dhammakaya
The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) deployed small drones to spy on the compound of Wat Phra Dhammakaya in Pathum Thani province on Friday, and an operator was hit on the head catching one when it fell from the sky.
DSI officials launched two drones from in front of Gate 7 of the vast temple complex in Khlong Luang district about noon.
About five minutes after takeoff, one of the drones seemed to stall and fall from the sky. An official ran out to catch it, and one of the four spinning propellors inflicted a severe cut on his head, which bled freely.
