Massage for back pain

Post by raphoedon »

Can anyone recommend a place to get a massage to relieve back pain. I'm coming back to town in a few weeks I'm bringing an old friend, he's 72, he suffers from some back issues and has to visit chiropractor occasionally. The only happy ending he is looking for is to be able to walk upright without pain.
Thanks

There are also the blind massage shops. Mrs BB can't recommend them highly enough.

Unless you speak fluent Thai, you should stay away from "traditional" Thai massage shops. More so if the patient is an elderly person. I gave up on them many years ago as they all INSISTED that all my diseased hip joint needed was more bending, despite my cries of agony!

If he's that bad forget any average massage shop mentioned above and go to the lady physio off Soi 94, she used to be on soi 88/1. Search physio for previous thread and recommended by JW and fishing Terry if I remember correctly. 700 baht for 90 minutes. She will assess you and treat the problem properly. Usually starts with a hot compress to warm the injured area to make it supple followed by massage and electro thingy then cold compress to finish.

Pagey, you have helped in the past and here you are again. Thank you, I will tell my friend. We are staying on SoI 94 for the first couple of nights so between her and the Huahin Hospital he is sure to find some relief.
Thanks again.
