Admiral Lord Nelson had one eye, one arm and suffered dreadfully from seasickness. Yet he was a sailor!!Ginjaninja wrote:My Grandad was an avid sailor in this day (small sailing cruisers) and he had a good friend that suffered with terrible sea-sickness. This guy had tried it all... pills, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, you name it, he had tried it. He was adamant he was to be a sailor.
Anyway; my dear Grandfather was determined to cure him so after several unsuccessful coastal trips he decided that the only cure was a weeks offshore hard sailing.
Trip all planned, prepared and ready to rock... up until the guy started throwing up walking down the pier..quite literally sea-sick before he even stepped foot on the yacht..
One of many of his favourites stories I like to hear time and time again.
Enjoy the sail folks...

So if the same safety criterion is applied as per the free trial, the ferry must be cancelled for 2 days.

But is it?
The other week the ferry operated when the met office gave out a warning for all shipping to remain close to shore

Did the ferry go today?

Surely, BB, it's been stated many times that this is a 'passenger only' ferry.Big Boy wrote:I didn't.

But passenger trains allow bikes and caged animals. I'm not trying to be argumentative, I honestly didn't realise. Surely a bicycle wouldn't do any harm in a baggage area.

OK, BB, I take your point.
Re: Hua Hin - Pattaya ferry project news and updates
Thinking about it, they've obviously got their reasons, but they're probably missing out on a business opportunity. I'd have thought there would be a market for shipping small items to and from Pattaya/Hua Hin in such quick time similar to what the vans do from Bangkok.
I've paid for a fast freight service from Bangkok, as I'm sure many others have. Why not a fast freight service to and from Pattaya?

I have to agree with you. Being able to order goods from Pattaya and have them collectable same or next day would be a great opportunity and money maker for the service provider. Pattaya has some good suppliers that we don't have in HH and I'm sure the reverse is true.Big Boy wrote:I've paid for a fast freight service from Bangkok, as I'm sure many others have. I don't think this project has any business plan or intention. Try and trace just who the owners are. There is an address which I posted previously, but I cannot find any mention of the owners. I believe it is entirely a government initiative for the usual reasons, and they could not care less about it paying its way. Anybody with half a business brain would not have started it in the first place. Just my 2 Baht's worth!Big Boy wrote:.............but they're probably missing out on a business opportunity.
