Nonthaburi 2 - 0 Vana Nava Hua Hin City

The Hua Hin team are definitely playing much better football compared to that woeful night in Kanchanaburi a few weeks ago. The problem is they have to concentrate for 90 minutes. That first goal was an absolute shambles.

The second goal was the mandatory goal from an ex-player that seems to happen to football teams all over the world. Sato was very unfortunate not to score a second goal as well. It does pain me to see ex-players, that Hua Hin have basically thrown out, playing so well against us.

I’m still unsure of the manager’s tactics – at home last week, we played the first hour without a striker against a very poor Ratchaburi, and even then only played one for the last 30 minutes. This week he played all 4 strikers (no more than 3 on the field at any time). The match was even until the 3rd striker appeared, at which point we lost the midfield.

I can still see some light at the end of the tunnel. This is a young team, and I think they will click. Too late to do anything but survive relegation this season, but I think it’s coming.

This goal sees the team sitting precariously near the bottom of the table, with the penalty for finishing bottom being exclusion from the league for a year.

Next match is this coming Sunday 26th March at 17:30hrs. Venue is Takiab Stadium.

Vana Nava Hua Hin City 5 - 3 IPE Samut Sakhon

I've been saying for a few weeks now that this team has been improving week by week. Things are starting to click up front now, and we've got the best Hua Hin City attack since the Brazilians left. Ironically, 3 of today's goals came from last season's players who couldn't have hit a barn door from 3' away last year. Of course, this begs the questions, did we play any pre-season friendlies, and were the team match fit at the start of the season?

3 goals against doesn't sound as promising, but the first goal was an own goal when the ball hit the post, but bounced into the net when it hit Hancho's back on the rebound. The 2nd goal crept in off the post, and the 3rd was the mandatory 'ex-player' goal when Patay curved in a beautiful curving ball from about 3 miles out, just like the goals he used to score for us, not.

Ratchapark opened the scoring for Hua Hin in the 2nd minute with a lovely finish, with just the keeper to beat. Ali G made it 2 - 0 with a lovely lob over the keeper from 30 yards. IPE brought it back to 2 - 1 just before half time. Ali G grabbed his 2nd with a shot that went in off the post, and Arnon grabbed a 4th with a very cheeky finish. IPE made it 4-2 before Panthakant grabbed our 5th. Patay had the last laugh a minute later, when he made it 5-3.

All in all, a very entertaining game in front of just 200 supporters. Our league position didn't change with the much needed 3 points.

Yes I was thinking the same Neal after the game that it was the best football post the Brazilian twins.

Some good goals but I wish HH would try and keep the ball on the floor a lot more.

Was as enjoyable as watching the Under 13s and 15s. Been a while since I have been able to say that.

Vana Nava Hua Hin City 1 - 2 BTU

After the Lord Mayor's Show..................... :D

We were given notice of the kind of match this was going to be in the 1st minute when BTU's centre forward shoulder barged Roland in the middle of his back and the ref waved it on as a fair challenge. If anybody read my thread about Zico's resignation, this was exactly the kind of thing I was referring to.

Today's teams were evenly matched skill wise. In fact Hua Hin were slightly better. However, BTU's men literally kicked Hua Hin's boy off the ball, and I don't think the ref had a pair. I think twice as many Hua Hin players were yellow carded as BTU.

Not a good game to watch - the football was spoiled by a team of bullies and a useless excuse of a referee - he should have been protecting the team.

Panthakant equalised an early BTU lead, but the bully boy tactics won through.

This leaves Hua Hin one off the bottom of the league, and with Pathum Thani winning their first point this weekend, it isn't looking good:

BB,as a matter of interest how many of the starting line-up this evening played in last weeks win? The No19 was obviously there,he is a class above the rest,i believe the keeper was also changed. As for the No28,i was amazed to see him return for the second half,he is being totally carried by his team mates.Overall poor game, poor result!

I'm not sure, but I would say at least 8 played last week.

Obviously we will have to agree to disagree, but IMHO Ali G (No.28) and Roland (No.4) were the only players actually running for the ball throughout the 90 minutes.

Agree, Pongpat (No.19) is continuing to improve, but he was a victim of the opposition's bully boy tactics a couple of times.

Also agree, poor game, poor result, but that is the effect of a poor referee who's been castrated. If he'd put his foot down, and controlled the bully boy stuff from the outset, the football would have been more entertaining. Result could have gone either way, but a shame it went the wrong way :D .

Assumption Utd 1 - 0 Vana Nava Hua Hin City

I'll be honest, looking at the league positions, and form table, I was expecting to see a cricket score in Assumption's favour today. As it turned out, both sides were evenly matched, and a goalless draw would have been a fair score. A definite goalkeeper error was the reason for the goal.

I did not travel today with the Songkran traffic, but suffered a very poor live video feed. The first 15 minutes were filmed behind glass, and the camera was focusing on the glass as opposed to the football. Even when the camera was moved beyond the glass, the focus was still poor at best, but I struggled on to watch the the match.

I can't say much more about the match because the definition of the feed showed me figures - I couldn't work out any of the players.

Today's result leaves us struggling one off the bottom of the league. Luckily, Pathum Thani haven't shown any sign of improvement all season.
Gameweek_9_2.jpg
We now have a 2 week break, which is when most teams strengthen for the 2nd half of the season. As our team are mainly college kids, I can't see any influx of players.

Next Game is the last day of April, when we entertain table topping Suphanburi Reserves

Good things are happening at the club, and I hope an announcement will be made in the next 24 hours. As a starter, I have it on good authority that there will be a friendly at Khao Takiab tomorrow at 16:00. I will update further as details become clearer.

Tomorrow's friendly has been confirmed. It is against old local rivals, Chiva Som. Some of you may remember last season's 'similar' friendly, which was good fun and a goal fest :D
