Retirement Visa Extension
Greetings,
How early can you apply for your retirement visa extension of temporary stay ?
I know the answer is in this forum someplace but I can not seem to find it.
Thank you.

Re: Retirement Visa Extension
Good time to extend your visa now, I arrived at Immigration 11:20 with my partner and both processed and out by 12:00.
We went the day before to check on the paper work required and was given a sheet showing the requirements, just a couple of things to beaware of:
At the same time as we applied for the visa extension also, completed a new 90 day reporting form and multi entry visa application.
The sheet showing the requirements said photos required should be 4cm X 6cm but the officer said normal passport sized photos were better.
As well as the letter from the bank we needed to 2 photocopies of our bank books showing the pages for the last three months.
Also 3 photocopies of our passports, front page plus all pages showing original visa and all previous visa extensions.
If you don't have copies of the originals you can always use the facilities at the office.

Re: Retirement Visa Extension
Some offices have been allowing extensions to be done up to 45 days early for a while now but I'm not sure if HH is one of them.
If it makes a big difference to the OP (ie traveling), it's probably worth asking the question.

Re: Retirement Visa Extension
Have to give HH immigration another 'thumbs up'. Did my retirement extension today. I arrived at 2pm and was back in my car at 2:15 with everything done.
Legal for another year.

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration office at Bluport
Hi I am on a non resident O Visa and was going to apply for 1 extension (retirement). I somehow, foolishly let my balance drop 7000 baht below the 800,000 baht requirement. This means that I cannot get 2 full months in above this amount to qualify for the 1 year retirement extension. I was advised to get a marriage affirmation stamp from Bangkok (to confirm my UK marriage certificate is genuine) then apply for a 2 month extension to visit my wife's family. During this period I will have done 2 months over 800,000 baht and can then apply for 1 year retirement extension.
Anyone know where and how to get the UK marriage affirmation and / or offer any other advice ?
An embarrassed chappy.

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration office at Bluport
You can only get your UK marriage certificate legalised in the UK now. The details are here https://www.gov.uk/get-document-legalised
This has to be done before it is Thai legalised. I did this part in the Thai embassy in London. Sorry, don't know if or where it can be done in Thailand.

You will be better asking in the other popular forum which cannot be mentioned but I think an option will be to go to Laos to get a new non o based on marriage and then reapply for a new retirement extension.

Re: Retirement Visa Extension
Also to repeat my comment from another thread, if your extension rests on your having have an official letter from your Embassy/Consulate confirming your pension, it's valid for 6 months from the date of the letter. That's as told to me two weeks ago by the guy on the immigration desk at the main office, so I hope it's correct.phartley58 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2017 9:25 pm"Her Indoors" was there doing her renewal this week and she enquired for me.
