Yes, it is and signposted, at least it was when I was driven there. It's about 50 yards down.

OK, I'll try to get to it again when I'm back, I had no problem walking along the beach to it but if I want to take my partner, that wouldn't be an option. I seem to remember they had a really good mixed seafood Tom Yum.

Strange, nobody has mentioned La Mer, Khao Takiab. August 5th 2017.

Reasonably large, 3 kitchens

And a postacrd view of Hua Hin and up to Cha Am

Image

All on the table + 3 soft drinks was 1,140 THB. Only the fish must had been 480THB.

Look at the menu...intentionally left half-torn to tell through how many hands it has been

Image

3 random pages with prices

Other guests were middle class Thai families and a group of business travelers, one group of some training course attendees.

Table waiting was by young (possibly even illegal) who looked more lost than found, the manager was showing them by finger where to take which order.

But the taste was good, not a big deal to grill a fish, as long as it is fresh.

LaMer is actually my favourite restaurant, but not for lunch. I've been there a couple of times at lunchtime, and the monkeys have been troublesome.

They must have done something about the monkeys. Been there 3 times, different years, always lunch and don't remember seeing one. A cat or two milling under the tables but no monkeys.

It is excellent. Go through Takiab fishing village, an up the first part of the hill to the monkeys. At the top of the first section, just go straight ahead (downhill again) - it's quite steep, but worth it.

My preference is to get there just before sunset, and watch the changes as day turns into night. If there's a thunderstorm out to sea, it's even better.

As B.B. says get there early as you are paying a supplement for the view, IMHO wasted when dark!
