Reuters should be a reliable source, but none of them should be speculating about any of it:

Re: Leicester FC owner's helicopter crashes
Although this horrific event occurred in the English midlands, there is something very Thai about it all!
Re: Leicester FC owner's helicopter crashes
Not a forensic expert.....Are there any way to identify the victims after such a horrific fire (judged by the videos)....
Will there be anything left at all to extract DNA from?

Are helicopters subject to air traffic control, flight plans, submitting passenger lists, etc.?
This is the way

Though having to rub shoulders with the great unwashed, normal transport usually gets you from A to B.

Yes, absolutely. But depending on what "class" the operation is conducted under, slightly different rules apply.dtaai-maai wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:17 am Are helicopters subject to air traffic control, flight plans, submitting passenger lists, etc.?
Not sure about in this case as it may have been under "private" operations, but it would still be under air traffic control with a flight plan.

Flight plan to be submitted but passenger lists are not mandatory here in UK for private helicopter flights .Nereus wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 10:07 amYes, absolutely. Re: Leicester FC owner's helicopter crashes
Not to take anything away from the pilot, he was more than well qualified and experienced. RIP.
But in the situation that he found himself, and the absolute few seconds that he had to react, it is a big stretch to suggest that he was attempting to "steer" the helicopter away from anything. Until a full investigation is completed it is not even known what caused the accident. In the normal operation of a helicopter in a confined area such as was the case here, he would have planned an exit path over the area as clear as possible of what he knew was there.
Some of the reports and opinions being published are down right absurd, and in some case border on being libellous.
