I would recommend going down to the beach. If I was home myself I would go there. Unobstructed view of the firework and multiple hotels/outlets selling beer and wine. Usually quite a big crowd too, so for me it is joyful to be there. Unfortunately this year I will spend New Year overseas working though.

Well, we fell for that - 3 of us wore 3D glasses, and couldn't tell the difference :?

They're special difraction glasses. You would need to buy them in advance not just ordinary 3D glasses!

It might have helped if the article said standard 3D was not good enough, and special diffraction glasses would be required.
