Just as an FYI, in my area I've never taken the "homeowner" (regardless that in theory it is me :banghead:  ) Just a copy of the blue house book first two pages, ID card, filled out TM30, and copies of the needed pages from your passport.. It's worked so far.

There were indications when he was in charge that changes or cancellation of the 90 day requirement were in the planning. My assumption is that this crazy Tm28 and 30 routine would see some changes or cancellation as well if he becomes influential again. We can hope.....
The Police Commission has resolved to remove sacked immigration chief Surachate Hakparn from a police sub-committee following mounting pressure.

Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the commission to consider the appointment of Pol Lt Gen Surachate, nicknamed "Big Joke'', to the police sub-committee responsible for laws and regulations.

National police chief Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda, his deputy Pol Gen Wirachai Songmetta and representatives from concerned agencies attended the meeting, which lasted about 40 minutes.

Pol Lt Gen Surachate was in April abruptly transferred from the police force to the civil service to work as a special adviser at the Prime Minister's Office. The transfer was made under a National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) Section 44 order to clear the way for an investigation.

Speaking after the meeting, Pol Gen Wirachai said changes to five out of a total of 7 police sub-committees were considered during the meeting.

The meeting resolved to remove Pol Lt Gen Surachate’s name from the police panel responsible for laws and regulations. Pol Col Mana Phochuay, deputy commander of the Metropolitan Police Division 8, was asked to fill the slot due to his knowledge in legal affairs, and he accepted the job, said Pol Gen Wirachai.

At the moment this is all just conjecture and means nothing until someone actually gets fined by Hua Hin immigration for not complying.

But have we not already had reports of people being penalised for exactly this? TIT, nothing is new, just regurgitated. Albeit, I think it was the visitors that suffered, not the house master.

Yesterday you wrote....." We've had a couple of reports on here where visitors have gone to extend visas, and it is then that they find themselves in trouble"

No there has been no reports from Hua Hin about people being fined or denied extensions because of the the lack of an updated TM30.
The main immigration office at Chang Wattana has dusted off the old TM30 requirement (it has officially been a requirement for many years, but not enforced), and they are indeed fining people and denying extensions before the fine is paid and registration is done. Why? Simply because it as a good earner.....300.000-400.000 baht in fines each day....right in the pocket of the corrupt officials at that office. When the expats have learned the lesson and indeed have their TM30's in order...the requirement will probably become dormant again, because there is no more money to be made.
Been renting out houses for many years, never filled in a TM30 for my tenants...No problems
Been away from Hua Hin on several occasions...both abroad and within Thailand...never informed immigration about my return to home....No problems
But the more expats that show up at the local immigration with the TM30 form in their small sweaty hands....to prove that they are indeed very good expats...the bigger the risk that Hua Hin will become stricter in enforcing the TM30-nonsense....Especially if they realize, there is money to be made.

Really? OK, I won't argue - the people on this forum were obviously talking crap.

If the law of the land says jump, then I will jump. I do not think pleading "T.O.M. said....................." would be a very good defence.

PeteC wrote: Wed Jun 26, 2019 5:24 pm I think an individual homeowner can register and report on-line as well. The above link by TOM I believe is the one. Use Chrome and it should translate out into English. I'm not on Chrome at the moment so can't check.
There's also an app for doing this now (both registering and reporting). Due to the section of the Immigration Act that requires the TM 30 to be submitted, it's called Section38. It's available from the Google Play Store. As with the website, you have to upload copies of Blue Book and/or Chanote, and ID card of the house master to register.

According to reports from 'the other place' your registration request can take anything from 5 days to over 6 weeks, to be processed (website or app). One good thing about the app is that it has an English language option so there's no need to translate from Thai to use it.

So, I applied to register using the Section38 Android app. The only documents I uploaded were a copy of the blue book and a copy of the house master's Thai Id. I got a message asking me to verify my email address after a couple of days and when I checked the status (using the app again) it said that my registration was successful. I got a user name and password two days later.

Next time I go out of kingdom and come back or stay somewhere where they submit a TM30 for me, I'll see how it works for actually submitting the TM30 itself.

If it works as easy as you suggest, then it’ll be a lot easier than having to report to Immigration

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the registration was. The only thing that threw me off for a while, was what they wanted for House ID number. Then I found out it's a number on the first page of the Blue Book. I also wasn't sure what to put for Accommodation Name but after looking at advice elsewhere, I just put "House" and that seemed to work.

We'll see how easy it is to actually submit the report and get it approved, the next time the chance arises.

I am a little confused by this.

I own a condo and I am on a retirement extension valid until next January, and at the moment I am in the UK. When I return to Thailand next month, and am stamped in at the airport using my re-entry permit, am I then expected to report to immigration or blue port within 24 hours to tell them I have returned to my condo, or is this TM30 nonsense just to report the arrival of any guests who arrive at my condo.

According to section 38 of the Thai Immigration Act, yes you are. Now, enforcement of this has been almost non-existent in the past and even now, it's very patchy with some areas enforcing it and some not. From reports elsewhere, it seems Chiang Mai is the strictest on this and in my experience, Hua Hin is probably the least strict.

The last time I came back to Thailand from abroad, which was nearly a year ago, I didn't submit a TM-30 (and neither did anyone else on my behalf). The next time I did a 90-day report at BlùPort, nothing was said.
