Best time to Buy a New Car

We are currently building our house and will be settled in by the end of july, early august.
Is there a better time of the year to buy a new car, nothing fancy, most likely a suzuki swift
do they do deals etc, or are they negotiable on the obvious high asking price, as is common practice elsewhere around the globe, well especially here in Aus..
we will be there again in late april, im also wondering whether the dealer would hold a fully paid for car for a few months,
i appreciate anyone's insights or experience

The price is the price. No discounts. All your negotiating is what "extras" the dealer will provide. Not at all like it is in other countries. Better deals can be found with Used Cars (PreOwned). There you can negotiate. If you have patience, you can find some good Used Car deals from farangs who have maintained their cars well. Even advertise on this forum to see what pop's up.

Agree with Brianks. Anytime really is a good time, and you can get extremely good deals on the second market if you look around enough. Pre-owned European brands tend to drop drastically in value over a couple of years compared to Japanese brands as the people who can afford them tend to trade up to a newer model every few years so they are typically dealer maintained. Local buyers tend to shy away from these as they feel the maintenance cost is high compared to Japanese cars.

With the expat exodus there are hundreds of fairly priced, well maintained used cars on classified sites such as Bahtsold. Its a buyers market at the moment.

Look at the used car website talarod and compare what you will get for the same money on a new swift you will be smiling .
