So we're a week into the new year. New decade. Did anyone else give themselves a few, soon to be broken, resolutions?
Here's my little list...
Don't post anything here or elsewhere when drunk
So far so good.
Don't drink
A dry week.
Complete at least a page of writing a day
Failed already. 3 out of 7 days
Gym everyday
Outdone myself... have been twice some days.
When posting on social media... try to be nice
Failed. Was never gonna work.
Stop smoking
Failed already but cut down to 2-3 a day so far.
Put things in motion to change my career
All good in the hood.
So... any of you good folk try to tweek anything? How's it going so far?
New Year's Resolutions

Re: New Year's Resolutions
Stop Drinking - Not going to happen.... Although is enforced through work at times.
Stop Smoking - Have not touched a cancer stick in 17 years after smoking 20+ a day for years.
Gym - F*ck that, getting too old and uninterested!
Career Change - Doing what I know and all what I've ever known, so not much change coming there.
The List: -
Try to invest in/purchase a property/B&B business - the LHG's wish-list and have to keep her happy!
Sort things out financially - still some years away from retirement, but want a decent time for myself and the LHG after the hours put in.
Put enough aside for the British Lions tour of SA!
Stop online shopping when pi$$ed!!
Invent USB Breathalyzer to ensure above!!

Re: New Year's Resolutions
I've never made a New Years resolution, seemed pointless. I was either going to do what I intended or I wasn't. Didn't need the extra pressure and self-recrimination.
Re: New Year's Resolutions
I didn't really think of it as a New Years Resolution but while hungover on New Years Day, I rashly decided to join the people I know here who go dry for January. I didn't take it very seriously at the time but now I've managed a week and a half, it's looking a bit more doable so I'm going to persevere!
Re: New Year's Resolutions
I thought it hilarious when Trump was asked if he'd made any NY resolutions. His reply: "I don't think you're supposed to say them out loud. It's unlucky"

Not sure about stable genius more like comedy genius

Re: New Year's Resolutions
His job numbers are also a joke. In a short space of time he announced 400,000 new jobs, later changed to 600,000 then to over a million.
However, he's still one and a half million short of the jobs Obama created in his first 3 years.
Ssshhh! Don't tell him or he'll have a hissy fit and call out 'Fake News'.
