Just spoke with my daughter who's stranded in Texas. That means she's there for another month. And we have another month looking after her 3 kids.

I think the answer is in one of the words you have used above - it’s anybody’s guess!! I was expecting an easing possibly in June but that’s been quashed, so you need to keep everything crossed that there are no spikes over the next month and then hope things begin to ease in July

You got that right. She certainly wasn't shedding any tears. Just means she has to groom her horse for another month! Grrr!

I think they will open the land borders first (Laos, Cambodia,Malaysia) and see how that goes for a couple of months before allowing international flights in.
If there's a spike in cases coming by land it will lead to an even further delay.
Chinese and South Korean flights will be the first allowed.

I have visions of having to fly to either KL or Singapore and catching a train the way this is going unless they restrict access by non-SE Asian nationalities. Am sure many who work abroad but 'live' in Thailand are hurting let alone Thai's marooned (with only a horse to groom...). Have always kept a UK resident status as in the many years I have lived in Thailand have always suspected something like this would happen. Now just a case of wait for another month to see what happens.

Flying into Thailand is ** nothing ** to do with the UK govt. It all depends how on when Thailand allows non thai passengers to get off the plane (flying out of Thailand is still ok and happens every day - LH, KLM, Qatar, etc).

Flying into the UK and quarantine is *everything* to do with the UK govt.

Jeez relax, I use the UK Govt as an example of general sentiment across the world for international travel. I am aware that to get into country they have to let you in first

If I were a betting man, I would put a few £’s on you coming, but TIT!!

If they haven’t opened up to international flights by then, there will be no tourist industry left - the only dampener could be if the UK suffers a second spike before October, when as a minimum there might still be quarantine restrictions?

I think that they will be very selective concerning exactly which countries that they allow tourists, or others, to come from.
What's the bet that only China will be the first? The quarantine period on arrival will also be a consideration.

That's my concern - we have flights booked in September. A while off yet, but the UK is introducing quarantine periods for travelers and is the worse effected country in Europe. Can't see Thailand wanting many visitors from this part of the world!!
