I had a friend who had his oxygen supplied by Hua Hin hospital and they came with refills when needed. Maybe worth trying the hospital again. If nothing else gives peace of mind re quality of oxygen

That is interesting. After all, it is the hospital's suggestion, and will keep a hospital bed free.

yes, that was the reason. he suffered intermittent asmatic atacks and suffered empha semia. thet said better treated at home not so many call outs

With larger bottles, like used at the hospital, the only difference is that medical bottles normally have a stainless steel valve / welding equipment bottles have a bronze valve. The bottlers are the sam altho some companies paint them different colors and they are all filled side by side on the same rack at the oxygen supplier.

Do not know the size of the bottle you have but the shop in your Google picture fills my small welding equipment bottle on the spot while I wait - from a larger bottle he dedicates to that purpose.

I think you have one or more dive shops in the area. Perhaps foreign instructors there as well. It could be an idea to talk to one of those places. They should know where to get trusted clean oxygen for their diving tanks, and perhaps will even sell/fill for you.

Edit: Having said that, I'm, not sure if diving tanks have 100% oxygen in them or a mix of gases?

Please do NOT do this! Normal recreation divers use pure atmospheric air compressed into a tank at high pressure (circa 3,000 psi - 200 bar). For specialised commercial deep diving various mixtures are used, which require accurate mixing in ratios depending on where it is going to be used. Most common is the addition of Helium, but some other gases are also used.

BE AWARE!

With ANY oxygen DO NOT allow oil of ANY description to come in contact with it; IT WILL EXPOLDE! This includes cooking oil, grease etc!

Make sure the fittings that you use to connect to a tank are DRY and CLEAN!

This is one of the problems with getting Somchai around the corner to fill your medical tank. You have NO control how he does it. DO NOT exchange tanks with such a place--a hospital SHOULD not be a problem.

No idea how it is done here, but in civilised countries medical grade portable tanks have to be evacuated BEFORE refilling.
