British classic cars in Hua Hin

Post by Matty »

Just wondering if there were many British classic cars shipped out to Thailand and if any classic car clubs are in the HH area. My interest should plans come to fruition would be to purchase a 60s to 70,s Sports car or saloon ie Lotus , Ford , Triumph , Sunbeam , Jaguar etc.

There are plenty of classic English cars in Thailand, but no club in Hua Hin. Soon there should be the annual old car parade in Hua Hin.

Pattaya has a very active club:

There was also a big following in Phuket, but it seems to have disappeared.

The following in Bangkok restores cars and sometimes has some for sale:

Just saw this post while looking back for something else.

I've got a Mk1 Escort and a Mk2 Cortina.

Can't post pics because I was only familiar with Imageshack and Tinypic and they appear to be defunct nowadays.

Bought the Escort in Bangkok, pretty much as it looks in the pic.

Had the Cortina built from a good bodied runner, but threw just about everything away except the shell.
Cortina came from Petchburi area.

What engines / BHP do they have - the Cortina has Lotus livery, but does it have a twin-cam engine?

Cortina has Toyota 3SGE 'Beams' engine, 200 bhp?
