Hello,
wouldn't some of you like being able to express your agreement/disagreement with posts/comments
by "Liking" or "Disliking" them?
Just a suggestion.
Kind regards,
MB aka 'Mike the Fritz'

Re: "Liking" posts
"Liking" a post might be OK and many sites do this....but "Disliking" a post is open to abuse or trolling and would cause more problems that it would be worth, which is why most sites don't allow it.
Also, you would have to make the settings so that you could only make one "Like" per post from a single IP address....otherwise, again, it would be open to manipulation.
Not sure if admin can be arsed to do that or how easy/hard it would be to set up.

It would be very easy to abuse that system.Spitfire wrote:Also, you would have to make the settings so that you could only make one "Like" per post from a single IP address....otherwise, again, it would be open to manipulation.
Generally, 'Likes' and 'votes' are only allowed for registered users and therefore only one 'like/vote' per post or account.

"words"? are you daft? no one uses words anymore. symbols and check marks are good enough for the modern citizen. harrumph! I apologize for using words to express my thoughts, I'm working on a series of symbols to express every thought and emotion so that in the future words will not have to be used and no interpretation will be necessary. the new system will be called BS and it will be available in all languages even deaf and dumb.
Re: "Liking" posts
If words are too difficult, we have emoticons e.g.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 0 Hull City
Points 51; Position 21
Consolidated - Championship Next Season

Clearly a very wise and insightful forum member...dtaai-maai wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2017 2:50 am An old chestnut.

However, one very good (IMO) argument for a 'like' or 'thank you' button is that I grow increasingly teed off with going to a new post only to find that it consists solely of or or .

The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.
