The shops and buildings nearby haven't usually changed much from the streetview.

I have google maps & street view on my computer and it's hardly worth buying a "smart phone" just for that.

Nah. You don't need a smart phone. I just do the journey on my computer, take a note of any 'landmarks', then I'm away.

Slightly off topic, apologies.....we had the street view camera car come down our Soi in Mon Mai last week, so there could be an update soon!
