Comedians/Entertainers of yesteryear

Post by HHTel »

Often whilst browsing, you come across things by accident.
This morning I hit upon Victor Borge, a name I'd almost forgotten. As well as being an accomplished pianist, he's a great comedian. Comedy in the past is quite unlike anything around today. I can't think of anyone that can match Victor Borge's style of comedy. Just watched a 45 minute stage act of his and was laughing out loud for most of it. His adlib, making things up on the spur of the moment and his timing is brilliant.

Appears it won't play on here so you need to click 'Watch on Youtube'.

Remember his phonetic punctuation?

Let's hear from other's choices of 'forgotten' entertainers of the past.

Correct. So today I'm hooked and will watch a lot. Probably forget again by tomorrow and move on.

I remember in my late teens hearing a Bob Newhart album that always had me in stitches. His delivery was quite unique.
Enjoy.

And my favourite..The driving instructor..

Dave Allen - another one-off. That vid led onto religion and driving. Hilarious.
