I'm out of brewing yeast so have used bakers for my latest batch.

Just mixed my first batch of pineapple beer,should be ready in 3 days. Also made a batch of Hunters apple cider that should be done in 1 week. Will let you know how they turn out, hic, (I hope) :cheers:

Just drawn off the first batch of pineapple beer. Tastes more like a wine to me and quite yeasty. Maybe lower the brewing time next. Had to filter it a couple of times and drawn it into Mason jars. Added a splash of Roselle juice and getting quite a buzz after 1 glass. Might come in handy if you fancy it during lockdown. I sort of followed this You Tube recipe.Hic :cheers:

The yeasty taste will dissipate after a while when it settles. Just keep throwing in more sugar or fruit, and it'll keep brewing.

My first '21 batch of ginger ale/mead was bottled a few days ago. No idea on the strength, but you can certainly feel it!

is it possible to buy something very similar in thailand,

it is a brew kit, that just requires sugar, NO boil kits

can we get no boil kits here in LOS , I dont really want to boil anything, too much room for errors.

those uk kits workout at around 27p a pint, 15baht.

with courage directors bitter working out at 40p a pint.

Yesterday, my wife brought in a beautiful 2 gallon glass jar with a very strong airtight lid.
"What's it for?" I asked. "To keep pasta" she replied.

"Pasta is dried and is fine in the Tupperware boxes we use currently. What a complete waste of a jar" I told her. "I know. It's perfect for a Rum Topft."

I've made one before which went down really well. So, I need some dark rum of 57 ABV (100 proof). That was my first stumbling block. I can find everything but. Even Villa with their extensive range of wine and spirits had just one 'out of stock' label. You can guess where.

The fruits are easy as there are many to choose from but until I can get the booze, I can't get started.

Any suggestions where I might get a strong dark rum?
