Car key replacement

Post by ahandpatsy »

Hi. I need a spare key made for a 8 year old Toyota pick up. Does anybody know a place that could help or do I have to go to the main dealer.

Thankyou in advance

Just take your original key to one of the key cutters dotted around town. One hangs around the Soi 88 roundabout, one in chatchai market, one with the watchmakers on Chomsin Road near the roundabout etc. Not sure if there's one in the basement of Market Village where the big watch maker stall is?

When entering Market Village from the car park, 2nd floor entrance near Homepro, the key maker located in the entrance can probably make your key.

I was going to suggest the same place, but I'm fairly sure all of the places around that entrance have now gone. Please confirm if he is there if you try him.

I went to him once, and IMHO he wanted a HUGE Farang supplement - I walked away. It was in the region of 10K, but I must say I don't know what the cost of a replacement Ford Ranger key should cost. My key only had a faulty spring mechanism, so after that experience I didn't bother again.

Apologies, I was getting confused between 1st and 2nd (UK and US) floors. I've been to Homepro this morning, which is 1st floor to me . Yes, he is there at Gate 2A. I also noted his sign says he repairs shoes and bags, which is a regular question on here.

Be aware that a new key will probably require programming, depending on which model car that you have. Both the remote door locking and the immobilser may be affected.

So it wasn't just me :D

Actually, I knew it wasn't right when he started to try to barter with 50% and higher discounts as I walked away.
