The Card Counter 2021 film is very good. A low stakes casino shark haunted by a disturbing past tries to find a life to live and seeks redemption.

Downloaded the 1080 copy, but certainly not BluRay or usual YTS standard - don't know what's happened there. Have deleted and will wait a little while longer and try again.

Thanks for the heads up though :thumb:

Yes. Surprised at YTS who have a reputation of providing good downloads.
This was obviously a 'camera copy' which I've deleted and will wait for a good copy.

Ah, I should've known, thought it was mighty quick seeing as it's only just nicely released in cinemas. Earliest digital release date is 6th May, so bit more of a wait for this.

I know I'm a year late catching it, but I really enjoyed Renfield. Count Dracula (Nicholas Cage) in the 21st century with Nicholas Hoult as his servant R.M. Renfield. It's very funny with a few ridiculously bloody action fight scenes.

It's clever when Dracula is accidentally invited in by a 'welcome' door mat. Cool closing credits too. :D

This one sounds like an interesting feel-good movie. The Beautiful Game (2024). Inspired by the very real 'Homeless World Cup' tournament. Starring Bill Nighy (one of your favourites isn't he, dm? :D ) .
Advocates to end homelessness, organize an annual tournament for Homeless people to compete in a series of football matches known as The Homeless World Cup.

Yes he is, and I'll be interested to see how he manages (no pun intended) this role, which is presumably much less 'posh' than usual.
This is the way

Give us a review if you watch it. It's on my quite lengthy 'to watch' list for now. :D

I haven't watched it yet, but my son and a visiting friend watched it while I was in Sukhothai, and said it was a really good movie.

I want to recommend a film that most people won't want to watch, but some will. On Rotten Tomatoes, critics gave it 80 plus and audience only half that. Because 'Netflix and popcorn' only viewers will think it's crap (I watch all sorts, I'm even enjoying Palm Royale) .

The film is Undergods. A play on underdogs, clearly. You should read a considered review to decide if it's for you:

PS - still no good copies of Dune Part 2 out there. Will people please stop going to the cinema so it gets released on DVD!

Now, now.. Calm down  , I quite enjoy Netflix but will give "Undergods" a go after reading the review.

As to "The Beautiful Game" with Bill Nighy.... Meh, not one for me and I did struggle to get through it (2 sittings). I did however watch (it was a long night) "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" (2019), which IMHO is well worth a look.
